Shadowy Money Trail of a Fugitive Fund-Raiser
The New York Times ^ | September 8, 2007 | MIKE McINTIRE

Posted on 09/08/2007 11:51:42 AM PDT by libstripper

At the center of the ever-deepening mystery of Norman Hsu, the fugitive fund-raiser who was captured after a brief flight from the law last week, is the question of how he evolved from a bankrupt swindler in 1992 to a wealthy donor to many Democratic candidates, and a bundler of campaign contributions to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2007.

A review of financial records for one of Mr. Hsu’s companies begins to shed light on some of his recent activities, including his dealings with a circle of campaign contributors that has fallen under suspicion since news of Mr. Hsu’s criminal past, murky business interests and unexplained riches rocked the Democratic Party.

The records show that Components Ltd., a company controlled by Mr. Hsu that has no obvious business purpose and appears to exist only on paper, has paid a total of more than $100,000 to at least nine people who made campaign contributions to Mrs. Clinton and others through Mr. Hsu. The payments occurred in the spring of 2003, several months before Mr. Hsu emerged as a contributor to Democrats and more than a year before he started bundling checks from those same people for various campaigns. In all, he has raised more than $1 million for Democrats.

The more the MSM investigates, the harder it is to determine if Hsu had any vaguely legitimate source of income. Indeed, from his claimed sources of income, it looks like he was a bankrupt grifter who ought to be spending his time between jails and homeless shelters. However, (OH, LORD WILL THOU VOUCHSAFE POOR ME SUCH A MIRACLE) he was able to fly transcontinental charter jets, contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars to the DemonRat party, afford top-flight lawyers, including his current ones, and throw away $2,000,000 cash bail. Now, poor, innocent Hillary has to explain how she used him as a top contributor and bundler without determining what his real sources of income were.

As a practitioner years ago before the Federal Election Commission, these transactions through the accounts of Components, Ltd., demonstrate a series of felonies under the election laws, by all of the people whose names appear on the transactions, and this is only one month,

Finally, the wooden stake may be at hand that can be driven through the heart of the vampire. (Note to Secret Service: I am speaking metaphorically.)

This is the time when the GOP needs to get a big pair of brass ones, grow a spine and go for the political throats of the dems. They need to dismantle the dem’s money stream from illegal sources and violators on both side of the money trail needs to spend extended time in prison.

Based on the previous Chinese donors to the Clintons you can expect some ties to the Chinese intelligence services.

“Senate investigation in order....hey Republicans in the Senate are you listening?”

An All out FBI investigation is called for as well. If so, I hope they are a little more serious than the Sandy Burglar case.

There better be some bells and whistles going off in more than one FBI and US Attorneys office about now.

It’s to the point that the MSM can no longer ignore it. As much as they yearn to shill for the ‘Beast, this is WAY too juicy a story.

In all, he has raised more than $1 million for Democrats.

This kind of money generally comes with strings attached.
