The quickest way to pick up Republican electoral votes using the Great Lakes - ‘If you elect me, I’ll pump water from the Great Lakes to California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, and Utah. ‘

How about this one to get votes —

“Vote for us, and we’ll make sure that you have a climate that promotes manufacturing jobs.” Give Michigan the same unemployment rate as the rest of the country, and we’ll be eating out of your hands.

Okay, I live in Ohio, which is a "Great Lakes" state. For the life of me, I see no reason why California or Florida should be taxed to save "my" lake.

For that matter, I see no reason why I should be taxed to rebuild New Orleans.
