What would be wrong with a Hunter/Tancredo ticket?

We have GOT to put someone in the WH who will protect our sovereignty.

Nope. Hunter brings nothing to the ticket. Thompson would have the conservative vote locked up. So Hunter doesn’t help there. We have no hope of carrying California. So Hunter doesn’t help there. The running mate ought to be someone from Ohio, Florida or Minnesota, where the election will be decided. A second possibility is Colorado, where we have to win but are increasingly weak. But there are not really any decent candidates from Colorado.

Duncan Hunter’s walk has never differed from his talk. He is the only one in this race that you can say that about.

Yeah and Hunter could deliver California’s 55 Electoral Votes to the GOP. Well, hey, it could happen....well.... never mind.

If we have no hope of carrying California with Thompson, why is he the conservative’s answer? Reagan carried California.

Well, that makes sense now that I read your post. The political landscape has not changed in California in the last 27 years at all. How silly I was not to see that.

Like 1980, California is today, a Republican stronghold in the presidential elections. Until your post, I had not remembered that California had gone Republican in all but one of the last five elections for president.

But even if the nonsense I wrote in the preceding paragraph were true, Hunter would still not help the ticket (and he's my favorite candidate of the lot of them). California is NOT in play. Ohio, Minnesota and Florida are.

I think they would be an Adams and Washington or a Grant and Lincoln.

Fred would be wise to go with a strong debater with proven exective experience and a dynamic personality that would balance his low key personality. That person would be Mitt Romney.
That just wouldn't happen. Mitt is Fred's main target right now, as he needs the same conservative voters that Mitt is courting in order to overtake Rudy. Fred will be contrasting his lifelong Movement conservatism with Mitt's very recent conversion. And likewise, Mitt, already a bit of a dirty campaigner, will be defending his turf ferociously. The inevitable tension and animosity I think will create a situation making it impossible for Fred to pick Mitt. Plus there is the fact that Mitt doesn't bring anything new to the ticket.

As much as people hate to hear it, if Fred picks any of the competition, it will be Rudy. Rudy brings comfort and continuity on security issues, and would help Fred immensely in the northeast, left coast, and Great Lakes.

Any ideas on the perfect VP for Hunter?

I can’t think of anyone right off the bat, but I don’t know who all the best players are.

There’s a vote to split the 1 for all vote to split
the electoral thing that elects the pres ( why do you
bring this up in the middle of the night? ) to split it
in CA. so Hunter could cut the state for REPs finally.
Instead of all for 1 for the state.
The dems hate this , so it must be good.

Thompson for the spotlight.
He’s been well seen in movies and has a (HOTTIE wife)
The women would go for him as a sexual alfa male and
wish to be his wife.
Take it away from Shrilly ( the woman factor).
