I got a few “To Any Soldier” letters.
They would come in and be distributed out to the different units. Our mail clerk would split them up when he passed out the mail. Everybody would get at least a couple each trip.
For those wondering how they can help some letters would be nice. You may even get a response, mine did.
Thanks for posting. It is important to let them know we support them.

Thanks for serving our Country, Pete. I appreciate the sacrifices you and your family are making to protect us. What you chose to do with your life is important.
That was a long time ago. Now I’m just one of the old farts running around town.
Living just outside Ft Bragg, NC I get to see all the young troops carrying the fight to terrorists around the world. And they, both male and female, look like they are in fine shape to carry on.
Thanks for all the links. It is inspiring and sobering to watch our troops as they move through this war. I’d like to show you something that just might make you smile:

SEMPER FI!
Thank you AfT!!!
Thanks for the post AR. I especially linked the Soldeirs statments below:
Everything thats portrayed on TV is the bad stuff. Whens the last time you heard on the news soldiers building a new school, new water well for the community, setting up a field hospital so all the people in the village can get checked out by our doctors.
They dont get those stories on the news, and thats why theres such a bias, or so many people are biased toward the war.

What we have done over there has really helped the country. And by no means are we trying to make it the United States of America, because there is only one USA. We have helped them with schools, roads, bridges, things they may not have been used to before. Were helping them get themselves better as a country.

I dont know why theres doubt in peoples minds if its worth it or not.

I firmly believe if we dont fight the enemy overseas, well fight them here.

Our country asked us to, so that in itself is reason enough for us to go.

Yesterday my wife and I were at Ft. Bragg watching a NC NG unit practice live firing their MIs and Bradleys.
Awesome
We met a number of of crews and thanked every one of them. They were deployed to Iraq in 2004.
What I am getting at is their expressing to us how much it means to them to get letters, packages from home.
I have been derelict in sending packages but that is abruptly changing.
