Study of Bush's Psyche Touches a Nerve (August 13, 2003)
Guardian ^ | August 13, 2003 | Julian Borger

Posted on 09/09/2007 1:22:49 PM PDT by Lorianne

A study funded by the US government has concluded that conservatism can be explained psychologically as a set of neuroses rooted in "fear and aggression, dogmatism and the intolerance of ambiguity".

As if that was not enough to get Republican blood boiling, the report's four authors linked Hitler, Mussolini, Ronald Reagan and the rightwing talkshow host, Rush Limbaugh, arguing they all suffered from the same affliction.

All of them "preached a return to an idealised past and condoned inequality".

Republicans are demanding to know why the psychologists behind the report, Political Conservatism as Motivated Social Cognition, received $1.2m in public funds for their research from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health.

Liberals - “We are the Borg, and you will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.”

That is the liberals ultimate goal for a “utopian” society. A world of Borg-like robots.

"They are still touting the silly “study” as proof positive of their righteousness."

With regard to the modern left, I think it's anything but "silly," but rather frightening. Remember, political dissenters in the Soviet Union were frequently confined in psychiatric hospitals.

The value of re-reading that article is to help keep in mind how potentialy dangerous these people are.

We also need to be reminded how they did this on our dime.

“I think of a man. And then I take away reason and accountability.”
— Jack Nicholson (from “As Good as it Gets”)

Excellent line. He was talking about women, but could have just as easily been describing liberals.

Commies always sent dissenters to “re-education” camps.

Force vs.freedom.

Take your pick. America.

Lorianne, I’m glad to see that you made it out of that coma you’ve been in, and now that you’re up and around and hopefully taking fluids and solid food again, this ‘story’ smells awfully similar to the Bogus Bush IQ ‘study’ by the imaginary “Lovenstein Institute” of Scranton, Pennsylvania, descrived as a “think-tank including high-caliber historians, psychiatrists, sociologists, scientists in human behavior, and psychologists. Among their ranks are Dr. Werner R. Lovenstein, world-renowned sociologist, and Professor Patricia F. Dilliams, a world-respected psychiatrist.”

That study was a fraud and a phony and I suspect this one comes from the same tainted neighborhood.

But nice seeing you back in the land of the living.

So, what did Stalin, Pol Pot, Jimmy Carter, and Ed Schultz suffer from?
