I'm glad that Mr. Reed, a junior in college and a political science major, was good enough to share his vast experience and knowledge of politics with us.

Fred Thompson announced that he is finally serious about his presidential campaign after toying with voters for nearly two months.

Sorry, couldn't read beyond such a stupid sentence.

Thompson announcement - bad news for Republican Hillary and the Democrat Party.

There I fixed it.

This article is a disingenuous piece of garbage.

Fred has the Democrats underwear in one hell of a big knot.

I hear their screams of pain.

Freds running, oh noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.........

...VS...

So, it's bad for the Party of Ideas to have a debate over these ideas then take it to a vote. The Party of Total Agreement is in better shape after having zero debate on everything, because they agree about everything. They are the ones ready to debate before the next Presidential election. Okie, dokie.

The problem for the Democrat Party is that a majority of the public doesn't agree with them. They don't want defeat in Iraq. They don't want to appease the terrorists. They don't agree that Social Democratic Europe is the epitome of wisdom. They don't agree that the Government ought to run everything. The problem for the Democrats is that the public DOES know what it's values are and what everyone stands for in that party.

With too many candidates for the average American to focus on already and no real standouts on the Republican side, Thompson's announcement could be the death rattle for the Republican Party.

I guess the Democrat party was dead last election when they had about 12 candidates.

"The serious candidates are all identical on the big issues within their party - they don't like Bush, they don't like Iraq, and they're trying to find a way out of it."

The sum total of the Democratic Party platform - we hate Bush and we'll announce our plan on Iraq after the election.

Death rattle for the GOP?

Jeez, what drama a queen! Is this what passes for college journalism these days?

So a junior in Pol. Sci. at the 2nd public university in Colorado doesn’t think much of the Republican Party’s chances.

What a pity!!

Well, while conservatives, who still make up a majority of the republican party, are busy with their fratricide of all the marginally conservative candidates in the field, Rudy still leads the national numbers by more than 10 points.

Any time a more conservative candidate than Rudy gets CLOSE to him, a section of the conservative population goes after that candidate and destroys them.

When we have Rudy as our nominee, we’ll have only ourselves to blame. I’m getting tired of those who reject the “good enough” for the unattainable (and for most of them, non-existant) perfect candidate.

We’ll learn our lesson eventually, but it apparently will be a very painful one.

Now that Thompson’s in, even though he was supposed to be the salvation for the conservatives, he too is getting soundly thrashed in some conservative quarters.

There is one thing that just drives me nuts, and that is a story made up of a few dozen one sentence statements.
