There, now that that's out of the way, perhaps we can address the subject of the article.
Tancredo is right, but I don’t think he has a prayer’s chance of realizing anything good out of his comments. This administration just doesn’t speak the same language
While I would try to live by Mexico’s rules while in Mexico, I have seen millions of examples of how Mexican citizens adhere to our rules when they pass into the U.S. This doesn’t bode well when the issue is 50 to 100 tons of freight traveling at heaven only knows what speed, with equipment that may or may not be in sound operating condition.
There also issues of trucker displacement in the United States. Although unions are involved, I DO NOT want to see another industry gutted in the interest of employing foreign nationals.
There are a lot of drivers who have invested in rigs across this nation, that have obligations to meet. They come first in this U.S. Citizen’s ideal pecking order (as it relates to trucking).
It is nice Tancredo has finally joined Duncan Hunter who long ago has been dealing with this issue and putting forth legislation. Tom follows Hunter’s leads.
I like leaders, not followers in a person to be President.
According to what I have read this free flow of truck traffic between Canada/USA/Mexico is part of a legal treaty between the countries - and therefore the law.
Therefore it had to have been agreed to by the Senate and signed by the President.
When did all this happen?? and who were the big players??
