Tensions high? Nerves on edge? No, I think at least two of these will ultimately be found to be connected and coordinated.
They are trying to rub the first terror event in our faces. The religious/ideological identification of these four persons may not be known, and so not reportable, at this time.
Want to put some money on it? I don’t think it is “being on edge” by flight crews but flaunting by a non-Hindu, but possibly Baptist religious sect.
For the last time, stop serving duty-free booze on the flights.
With a few notable exceptions (schizos off their meds) “air ragers” turn out to be obstreperous drunks.

He wrote us yesterday via BB telling us he was being diverted due to a "Medical Emergency". He said he saw someone being handcuffed and escorted off the plane.
I basically told him there are far worse places to be stranded and that God was smiling on him that he landed in Ireland. Then I sent him a list of fine Irish whiskies to go out and try or buy.
They are flying out today.
Looks like 1066Ad wins the "pool" for guessing it was a "smoking fit" (lol! Or not...) No one on the flight is laughing about it.
Here's an update (live report from a passenger on the Istanbul flight) from within the past hour:
5:36AM Eastern - "Yeap, there are plenty of rumors among passengers. They are saying he didn't speak English nor Turkish, and they couldn't communicate with him. He went back and forth, and ended up in business class, were he didn't belong. Supposedly he wanted to smoke. The marshalls injected some kind of tranquilizer. They kept a whole bunch of people passports overnight, probably for background checks. We are the airport waiting for our new flight to NY, leaving at 11:30 AM (EST + 5 hrs). NY to FLL is at 4:20 PM EST, so hope to be home by 8 PM. I am looking forward to be AT WORK !!! Believe or not !!"
6:09AM Eastern - "The guy that caused the whole thing is going back on the same plane. He looks like he is retarded, badly! Can't believe they are putting him on the same plane again!!! They need to sedate him and tie him down!! Don't want to land anywhere else."

Last year I was flying out of Manchester England back to the US. I got pulled out of line because the detector beeped as I passed through. A female agent accompanied by two male agents took me over to the side and proceeded to pat me down. I would have to say they were all very polite and almost apologetic. However it was quite a thorough search and immediately afterward I smiled and looked at them and asked them if anyone needed a cigarette now...heehee. They chuckled ...apologized again...I told them I would rather they be cautious and I was fine thank you. Morale of story...never wear an underwire bra on a flight ...grins.
