A 30 percent sales tax will create a blackmarket that will make illegal drug trade look like a kid on the playground pitching contraband candy. No thanks.

“The devil is in the details - ever heard that before?”

Nope! First time!

“No, it doesn’t say the taxes are difficult to collect, economists say that.”

More difficult than the over 300 billion dollars the IRS failed to collect last year? Is it so difficult it will make this problem WORSE?

A 30 percent sales tax will create a blackmarket that will make illegal drug trade look like a kid on the playground pitching contraband candy. No thanks.

You're missing several key points. Corporate income taxes, business to business taxes and the cost of complying with the federal income tax are hidden in the price of every good or service you purchase and total more than 30%. These are passed onto the consumer in the form of higher prices. Fair Tax FAQ #5. The Fair Tax will eliminate these hidden taxes and costs because they will be abolished. Fair Tax FAQ #1 and Fair Tax FAQ #2. Consequently prices will drop as competition will force companies to pass on the cost savings to the consumer by lowering prices approximately equal to the Fair Tax rate. The result being prices will remain about the same after the NRST is added onto the price.

The black market will be considerably reduced due to the transparency( tax on the receipt) of The Fair Tax. Businesses need answer only one question to determine the tax due: How much was sold to consumers? Fair Tax FAQ #33. Many more people will be forced to comply with a consumption tax every time they make purchase. People will be more willing to comply because of the reduction in prices (prior to the sales tax), the increase of their purchasing power due to the elimination of federal income taxes from paychecks and the effective tax rate(after the prebate) will reduce 25/30% tax imposed on the price. The dramatic reduction in the number of tax filers, tax evaders are more easily monitored and caught under the FairTax system.

Your vague statement is replete with incorrect assumptions. You clearly haven't taken any time to read The Fair Tax Act of 2007 or visited the Americans For Fair Taxation website. I suggest you do so before making anymore statements.
