Just a tropical disturbance. Nothing to see here. Go back about your business.

It means more rain for folks who don’t really need it.

TD 8 in the Atlantic is moving at a snails pace. Will probably get batted up and out before it gets to FL, but it does look organized already.

The longer it’s over warm water, the more likely it is to become something. The global warming folks will be salivating for the nest couple weeks.

Look at how quickly it pulled itself together. But it’s a slow mover and slow movers get pushed up and out to the north.

Tropical Storm Warnings Issued for Texas, Louisiana Coasts

MIAMI — A tropical storm warning was issued Wednesday for parts of the Texas and Louisiana coasts as a tropical depression intensified in the Gulf of Mexico.

At 11 a.m. EDT, the ninth tropical depression of the Atlantic hurricane season had maximum sustained winds of 35 mph and its center was about 85 miles south-southwest of Galveston, Texas, forecasters said.

It was moving toward the north at near 6 mph, and its center was expected to reach the Texas coast later Wednesday.

A tropical depression becomes a named tropical storm when its sustained winds reach 39 mph. The next name on the National Hurricane Center’s list for the 2007 Atlantic storm season is Humberto, followed by Ingrid.

By the looks of things we’ll have Humberto and Ingrid within a day or so, Humbero gone by the end of the weekend, Ingrid, who knows. You plan on two threads?

Galveston Bay Report: We had some rain for the drive in to work this morning, roads were a little floody. The rain has stopped for now. There are no winds to speak of ... it just looks like any other rainy type day.

Ya’ll keep the windows shut and the rain coats handy.

This one will probably cause as much trouble for you as that puff of wind they called a Tropical Storm that moved through our outer banks earlier this week.

I’ll have to keep my eye on the other Low.

Thanks. I think most of it will miss my area though. It’s just hot and sunny here right now. The good news though is that it looks like eventually some places that need rain will get some soon , so that said I guess Texas can put up with another drenching.

I heard this system could stall over the TX/LA border. Big rain issue.
