I have the perfect storm watching spot. I live right on the water on a peninula that jutes out a half mile into Galveston Bay. The only better spot would be a beach house on the Gulf of Mexico, and staying there would be a BAD idea. Here I am 12 feet up.

Well, you keep an eye out there in SL - Doc Frank said the storm *might* dam up the Bay like Allison did and it’ll start running upstream like before!

Yea I saw that with TS Francis, pushed water in for 3 days before comming ashore lots of local flooding. My side of SL is 12 ft up. The other side is 3 ft up. Happy to be on the high side!

I was just telling on the other Humberto thread that my local news just showed that the bayou by my house “only has to come up *30 more feet* to flood,” lol!

*what, me worry?*

I just don’t like the projected recurvature, like TS Allison. That’s a little worrisome.

Yeah, my last house backed up to a bayou tributary and it was an 18 foot embankment on my side, but just 5-6 feet on the other side. They did flood over there sometimes, but I didn’t.

Just sweating that “30 feet” on Brays Bayou, lol. TV gets all freaked out about this. But I’d rather that than complacency!

Been living on this Bay for 30 years have not left yet. This is a baby, no problem at all. Rita had me a little worried I must admit.

Before I found this one of NN’s, it was the only one with Humberto in the title when I searched.

Thanks, yet again.

LaPorte here and hoping for the best. Floods could be a problem.

Seems to be following Allison path but moving faster.

7 mph is rather pokey—expect lots of rain.

Oh goodness. Just what we need, more rain. The ground is saturated as it is, the rains got nowhere to go but into the street.

Rumor is 13 inches of rain, and that’s going to keep me in my home tomorrow. My neighborhood flodds. (sigh)

Hi NN. :-)
