Because of his conservative voting record.
Because he isn’t a RINO like McCain.
Because his record doesn’t include support for the amnesty bill, abortion, high taxes, gun control, I can go on here.

You know, at first I thought he was refering to his bleak campaign prospects with that No Surrender thing.
Actually, FRed’s “conservative voting record”
is little different than McCain’s. And while I was disappointed in McCain’s position on immigration and assault weapons, I have to note that the president was of the same, exact mind on each. On abortion, McCain has said and repeated that he is firmly pro life...it is Mitt, Rudy, and even Thompson who’ve mostly flipped on abortion.
Seems to me that McCain was a poison pill after South Carolina in 2000 and a poor loser.
He did all he could it seems to make life dificult for the president.
At a time when the president could have used all the help he could get.
Now then if you get in to McCain and his free speech curtailment during elections and I am not a fan of his.
While Fred is not a perfect Reagan conservative he is a far cry from Rudy.
At this point after reading his votes as a senator I’ll back Fred.
If Fred had enlisted, he would have been assigned to the JAG Corps. Would that have helped win the Vietnam war?
I could also point out that Fred was a Goldwater backer and there would have been no extended Vietnam war if he had prevailed.
