First of all,Comrade, the State Department wouldn’t accept an application to renounce US citizenship from 14 year olds. And second, due to numerous treaties that have been signed by the US,the State Department doesn’t accept an application to renounce US citizenship from *anybody* who cannot prove that he/she has another citizenship so as to avoid making that person “stateless”.

...he sent a letter home to his student's parents urging them to renounce their citizenship in the U.S. as he announced he was so doing. This story should be emailed to every talk show host and hostette. Make sure this idiot gets kicked out of this country ASAP.

He is so filled with hate against the U.S.A. that he even sent a letter home to his student’s parents asking them to renounce their citizenship in the U.S.
This guy is a complete moron if he really did this. Of course, in Chico, CA, my bet is that many student’s parents are NOT citizens of the US anyway.

Vouchers are a start, but the elimination of the teachers unions is about the only thing that will begin to fix this problem. How many of you with children are encouraging them to be teachers and journalists when they grow up?
This all didn't happen overnight, folks. There's stuff you can do to try to stem the tide in the meantime, but if you really want change you've got to have a long-term goal in mind.

progressives led by John Dewey Dewey was a Pragmatist. Also one of the few American philosophers ever. An author who drops a name like this should have some intensive reading already done, but Dewey is as hard to read as most philosophers except Whitehead so it would be best for the author to never drop this name again.

Will he need a visa to continue working at this school if he is no longer a citizen of the US? Someone alert Social Security - he won’t be needing those benefits given to citizens...

Hmmm. Does this mean he won’t be showing up at the polls to vote for Hillary in November 2008?

Remember, when Hillary was asked if she loved America she said that she loved the America that COULD be. Being openly anti-US is acceptable and ‘normal’ behavior in our current society. This is a dangerous time, and too many people are more concerned about what’s on TV than the type of world their children will grow up in.

I had not clicked on the teacher's name prior to responding - dang, I read the article, didn't realize there was homework too! :^)
I'm not sure I buy the explanation by the teacher - even if it was all above board, he did a lousy job of setting up the lesson. This will bite him in the rear.

It is too bad that lawyers and the NEA have taken over our educational system. Thirty years ago this miscreant would have been taken to the woodshed and heâd have to just think his beliefs and behave. No kid of mine will have a teacher like this without me causing problems to the school. The Chinese and the Spanish speaking are salivating because the pussification of the citizens of the US will make us easier to dominate. .

Chico resident Michael Hill said he was told by his daughter, Kaytlen Hill, 13, that the assignment was to have parents sign the letter and return it to class Wednesday.
I would have returned it to class alright - in person. And shoved it up Brook's (___) with a yardstick (a 3' ruler for you 'kids').

When I was in high school back in the early 1970’s a class had a simulation of communism. We (students) were issued little red books we always had to have in our possession. There were secret police (students). We were given menial tasks to replicate central planning and production quotas.
I believe the experiment lasted a couple of weeks. I recall somehow losing my red book and was suddenly at the mercy of the secret police who began to persecute me and make my life difficult.
I still remember the lessons learned from that class experiment. When the class segment ran it’s course we analyzed the entire process and the consequences of compliance, and non compliance alike. The lessons of communism and socialism were forever engrained in my mind. I don’t think my parents were very thrilled but they were not asked to participate to the extent of signing documents to perpetuate the situation.
But I could see how such a study could be developed and maybe misconstrued. Too much? Perhaps.
Depends on the lessons learned and who lewarned them.
