WARSAW, Poland, Sept. 18 U.S. automaker General Motors announced plans to rebuild the FSO manufacturing plant in Poland and make it Europe's biggest Chevrolet producer.

Peter Forster, chief executive officer of General Motors Europe, said the company wants to make cars in Poland for the next 25 years or more, a Polish Radio report said. GM plans to produce 400,000 Chevrolet vehicles annually.

Earlier this month, GM announced it paid $254.5 million for 40 percent of FSO shares.

It’s great that Poland is going to reap some financial rewards for it’s actions over the last few years, even if it’s not directly related to those actions.

I like what I see coming out of Poland, and I want to support that nation if we can.

I totally agree with you all the way around.

It would be wonderful if more of the former Soviet bloc countries were able to produce as many people who desired freedom and democracy as do the Poles.

There is a lot of investment in Poland, and a lot of it is American, although, for example, the Netherlands gets the credit because US companies set up subsidiaries in the Netherlands, for tax and other EU reasons.

Poland is a beautiful country, and the Poles are wonderful people. Sometimes, though, the Poles will complain that we, as Americans, expect too much too soon from them.

Perhaps we do. It is strange, our dealings with other nations. Some we ask nothing of and our government seem to love them. Others we do and give them little credit.

I do hope Poland gets a fair shake from us over time. I have no reason to believe they won’t though.

“Europe’s biggest Chevrolet producer.”

Doesn’t GM manufacturer under the name of Vauxhall in Europe or is that just in Britain?

Another pyrrhic grand victory for Michigan, it’s immeasurably stupid voters and the communist governor the morons voted back into office for another four years of socialist funnies.

Jennifer will probably send herself and her socialist entourage off on a vacation to Bali to make herself feel better.

They are...You just don’t read so much about it.
As I posted last week, Slovkia has the largest per capita
car production in the world with Volkswagon, Peugeot, and Kia.
Of course the total population is under 6 million.
Most all of the former communist countries in CENTRAL Europe are doing great.
Life here for me is much better then back in Memphis.
