2 Howell boys accused of forcing classmate to have sex on bus

Lansing State Journal

HOWELL - Two Howell elementary school boys - ages 9 and 11 - have been charged as juveniles with criminal sexual conduct for allegedly making a 7-year-old boy perform oral sex while on a school bus in May.

The father of the 11-year-old boy, however, said his son merely witnessed the attacks and was himself a victim of a similar attempted sexual assault by the 9-year-old. He questioned the safety of students on Howell buses

"We take it for granted our children are safe," the 38-year-old father said. "We're worried about predators coming up to the bus stop, not being on the bus. How can you think our children are safe? The school should be accountable for what happens on the bus."

Although the events reportedly happened at the end of the school year, Superintendent Chuck Breiner said he just learned of the alleged sexual assaults on Monday when the 11-year-old boy's father called him to ask why his son was questioned by the school principal and a police officer without his knowledge.

Police reports indicate that the 7-year-old reported that on several occasions he was forced to perform a sex act on the 9-year-old boy. The incidents are alleged to have taken place toward the end of the after-school bus route when there were few students on the bus.

School buses have cameras but a video tape is inconclusive, said Breiner.

Juvenile court records indicate the 9- and 11-year-old boys are each charged with first- and second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

If convicted as charged, both boys also would have to register as sex offenders for life.

I never witnessed sex acts on the HS bus other than kissing and groping.

I did see bullying and drug use though.

As someone already said, it’s hard for a driver to DRIVE and “watch” these kids on a full long bus - especially nowadays, when so many are so nervy and rowdy.

It’d be better if other monitors were on the bus.

Besides, there are many things you can miss when you’re stuck sitting in 1 position at the very front - and all the other kids are hidden by their seats, too. Don’t blame the driver.

I do not consider homosexuality a “state” but a behavior.

“those who nurture him and direct his destiny have the right, coupled with the high duty, to recognize and prepare him for additional obligations.”

Would that include disciplining them the old-fashioned way as we please without having “social BS services” sicced on us?

Part of the left’s agenda is the destruction of the traditional family unit, with too many obvious examples to list.

One method of destroying the family unit is to encourage children to develop “private” relationships outside of the family, especially sexual relationships.

This is what you’re seeing and referring to.

I didn't even know what this was until at least middle teens.

Same here. I look back now and am so glad I was so naive about sex then. Heck, the sex education I got from my parents, friends, church and the community was "say no!"

And most everybody in the community would back you up when you did. So most girls were not afraid to say no.

When I was in 4th grade my parents had us kids change schools. We went from public to Catholic. The switch entitled us to use the bus because of distance. After several weeks of riding the bus to and from school, both my brother and myself chose to walk the 1.5 miles to school.

The kids on the bus were the meanest SOBs I can ever remember from childhood. The bus driver was a wimp and never controlled the mayhem! It was so bad that one day, the last day, when we got up to get off at our stop all the other kids told the driver to keep going. It was the wrong stop. The driver believed them over us and kept going!

And these were Catholic school kids!

If you “say no” now, you’re an uptight repressed prude.

‘”There’s a massive effort to indoctrinate children through popular culture programming.”

You are so right!

My Eldest boy was the best kid one could hope for until he started hanging out with kids (at High Shcool) who were immersed in popular culture. At 15 he turned into the nastiest, drug soaked idiot. He left school a year later. I had the fight of my life on my hands and continued to wage it using all the tools I had. Finally in his very eary twenties he snapped out of it when he was able to comprehend what he had done to me and his mother (BTW it took an almost nervous breakdown from me for him to come to his senses). Now at 23 he is undoing what those years have done to him.

His mother and I where and are the best parents he could have ver hoped for - (I didn’t believe that when we were going though all these problems) but now I know we did all we could do for him and the popular culture undermined us at every step.

The second boy turned out totally different as he is stronger and less affected by what others think.

Family is of utmost importance to society without strong family units this soceity is doomed. Is it any wonder that Satan uses his minions in liberalism to undermine the family unit at every turn.

Love your kids and be strong

Mel

I certainly think that kids have access to watching South Park, and some episodes have been very explicit about decribing homosexual acts. I don’t think we can hold them blameless, even if the Rainforest episode was right on target.

I went through a similar experince with my second born. Mom was only interested in being their ‘friend’. Of course all the problems exhibited by the child were my fault. The school leadership contributed by hiding things from my wife and I. A 13 year old smoking just off campus wasn’t worthy of mention to us. Neither was their knowledge that the kid was sleeping with 19 and 20 year old adults at a friend’s house.

I won’t go into the rest, but nothing in my life made me second guess myself more than going through this. And I finally wound up walking away for my own sanity.

My first marriage and the things I experienced during the journey, make me wonder how in the heck any religious leader could help families, having never been married or raised children.

Thanks for the comments.

“The police had better investigate that 9 year old but good - it should be glaringly obvious to everyone on the thread that the 9 year old is most likely a victim of molestation himself.
Somewhere in this story is an adult waiting to be arrested.”

excellent post
There really are just a few possibilities.

The kid himself has been molested.
The kid has witnessed sexual activity and is acting out.
The kid has stumbled upon somebody’s stash of porn and is acting out.

I believe incidents like this are very isolated. Calm heads are called for here. The perpetrators should be punished accordingly, but I think making them register is over the top. But they need help, serious help.

Secular humanism chickens come home to roost. No God, no morals, moral relativism, your children are cannon fodder. Or in this case, whatever.

“I take it that there was an adult bus driver. So what was he/she doing while this was going on?”

Ummm, like driving the bus and watching traffic and trying to keep an eye on 60 kids. Try it sometime, it’s not as easy as it sounds.

Can you name the last popular show where the father was not portrayed as a buffoon? Even the Cosby show had Bill Cosby looking fairly inept a whole lot of the time - the mother was the mature one there.

I can't think of a single show where the adults are in charge and are truly adults.

Also the Internet makes it all so easy and accessible.

My friends son went on one of the video game sites, I cannot remember which one. They had links for Japanese animae(sp)cartoons. He clicked one and it was porno animae(sp).

Clicking one wrong link can send kids to some really hard core stuff.
