Video: Wesley Clark Implies Troops ‘Bust Down’ Doors And ‘Rough Up’ Women

Appearing on ‘The Daily Show’, Wesley Clark compared our troops in Iraq to “space invaders” who “bust down your doors and rough up your women and throw you on the ground.” Sounds exactly like what John Kerry said two years ago. Transcript:

WESLEY CLARK: But if you didn’t have those rules of engagement, like we had in some units at the outset where you just sort of knocked on doors and roughed people up. Well, look, I mean, in America, think of how it would be. I’m from Arkansas, but think of how it would be anywhere in the states, you know? An invading force comes in. They’re wearing space helmets.

JON STEWART: You’re talking Red Dawn aren’t you? Are you talking Red Dawn?

CLARK: Sort of like that. But they’re space invaders. They have laser weapons and stuff and bust down your doors and rough up your women and throw you on the ground, really, I mean.

Doesn’t it make you wonder who this guy was in touch with, that made him think these kinds of diatribes were going to endear the American public to him? He started this as soon as he left office. Did he believe this stuff while he was still in? Did he hate the troops then?

Not really my boys in ROTC all tell me about the bust down and pin women drill. Its right before the squad dril about raping the whole village ala the mongol horde /sarc

Does anyone notice that every soldier in every epoch has a few defining motions. Romans with those caps and tutrle formation. Greeks had phalnsx. Mongol with horse archer and aforementioned pillaging. Japanese with honor suicide. Nazis with spiffy uniforms and blatant disregard for humanity.

The one move of our GI s i always think of when i hear this stuff about them is how the local children be they German Japaneses Afghan Arab Serb Croat Albanian wherever are always glad to see them because
a) they know the get candy
b) Americans are always the good guys (even in our darkest hour we are better than whomever we are fighting at the time)
c) they get smiled back at and feel protected by men who stand tall and proud and fight in the open in uniform (something which is apparently going out of fashion.)
d)also they get chocolate too.

I think he’s just spouting the Party Line. Remember when Durbin compared our troops’ behaviour to that of Nazis, Pol Pot, and Stalin? Unfortunately, some think that it’s good politics to defame the military. By the way, Republican Chuck Hagel hasn’t been very far from this mindset.
