As I recall, during implementation of the previous administration's strategies in the War on Terror, members of the far left bleated their resentment toward those who questioned their patriotism. Given the left's pathetic deportment in response to terrorism, and reckless sympathetic tendencies where terrorists were concerned, they had come under criticism of the more circumspect among us. Still, they claimed that their dovishness, objection to such measures as the Patriot Act and support of sanctuary city statutes didn't make them any less patriotic than anyone else, damn it.

Anita Dunn: How We Created Obama's Cult of Personality By Candance Moore Created 2009-10-20 10:45 For months NewsBusters has been reporting [0] how the media aided and abetted the creation of Barack Obama's Cult of Personality leading to his eventual election as the 44th President of the United States. Eight days before his inauguration, Obama's Fox News-hating [0] communications director Anita Dunn and his digital strategist Ben Self, while at a conference in the Dominican Republic hosted by the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development, confirmed the allegation in a tutorial they gave to President Leonel Fernandez and other government...

The U.S. Justice Department has denied Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel’s appeal of its decision to reject Handel’s plan for verifying voters’ citizenship. Handel, a 2010 Republican gubernatorial hopeful, asked the department in August to reconsider its decision to reject the system. The Justice Department in May said the verification program is frequently inaccurate and has a “discriminatory effect” on minority voters. The decision meant Georgia had to halt the citizenship checks, which Handel launched in 2007 in response to the Help America Vote Act. That federal law required states to verify voters’ identity, but not necessarily citizenship. Handel...

President Obama recently shifted authority for approving sales to China of missile and space technology from the White House to the Commerce Department -- a move critics say will loosen export controls and potentially benefit Chinese missile development. The president issued a little-noticed "presidential determination" Sept. 29 that delegated authority for determining whether missile and space exports should be approved for China to Commerce Secretary Gary Locke.

If Barack Obama had campaigned on what he has actually done in his first 300 days in office, would he have been elected? That's the question so many are asking today. If Obama had told us he would appoint 34 czars, reporting only to himself and not vetted or confirmed in the constitutional way, building a powerful unitary executive branch of government, would he have been elected? What if he had told us that his green jobs czar had been a Communist, that the science czar wrote in a college textbook that compulsory "green abortions" are an acceptable way to...

ACORN wants people to register to vote – as long as they’re Democrats. Republican registrations go into the trash. Here is a first-hand account of how it happens. In February 2008, Fathiyyah Muhammad of Jacksonville, Florida, heard that ACORN was paying people three dollars for each voter they could register. ACORN paid her three dollars for each voter she registered, but Fatiyyah Muhammad says that the group threw out her votes and fired her when she brought them registrations of Republican voters. Fathiyyah Muhammad voted for Obama. “I’m a Republican,” she says, “and this was the first time that I...

On the eve of what organizers call a 'Big Ol' TEA Party', the Washington, D.C., offices of FreedomWorks were evacuated by DC Metro police on Friday afternoon after the conservative organization reported to authorities at 3:42 pm ET that it had received a bomb threat. At 4:48 pm ET, the organization put out a Twitter message saying that it turned out to be a false alarm but the organization is not happy about the disruption. My colleague, ABC News' Teddy Davis has the story: Tens of thousands of anti-big government activists are expected in Washington on Saturday as part of...

Arrest warrants have been issued in Miami for 11 people suspected of falsifying information on hundreds of voter registration cards last year. The FBI and state authorities were making arrests Wednesday. The workers being sought were hired to register voters by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN. Prosecutors say they were first notified by ACORN about problems with workers in June 2008. Republicans and conservative activists have accused ACORN of fraud in voter registration drives around the country. ACORN officials say the Florida case proves the organization is committed to an honest process. The case involved...

Diane Watson is a racist Congressional Representative from California’s 33rd District, in Los Angeles. Just over a year ago, she chastised Ward Connerly for his having the nerve to wed a white woman. She’s telling us now that the only opponents of Barack Obama and his move to socialize America are those who object to socialism because, in her words, “[Barack is] the first President who looks like me.” In the same breath, she sings the praises of Marxist murderer Che Guevara and Marxist murderer Fidel Castro (who ousted Che). Hear it for yourself: Fact of the Day: Rep. Diane...

SAVOR the silence of America's self-serving champions of privacy. For once, the American Civil Liberties Union has nothing bad to say about the latest case of secret domestic surveillance -- because it is the ACLU that committed the spying. Last week, The Washington Post reported on a Justice Department inquiry into photographs of undercover CIA officials and other intelligence personnel taken by ACLU-sponsored researchers assisting the defense team of Guantanamo detainees. According to the report, the pictures of covert CIA officers -- "in some cases surreptitiously taken outside their homes" -- were shown to jihadi suspects tied to the 9/11...

Matthew Vadum, writing in today's American Spectator, blows the cover off Barack Obama's plans to hijack the observance of the 9/11 terrorist attacks by turning it over to the radical leftist Lennox Yearwood of the politically well-connected Hip Hop Caucus. This news has been hiding in plain sight, but got lost in the battle this month over nationalized health care, so Vadum has done a great service by bringing this to our attention. Vadum's piece has been picked up by Michelle Malkin and Gateway Pundit. This article is intended to fill in some big pieces of the picture about what this...

The Obama White House is behind a cynical, coldly calculated political effort to erase the meaning of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks from the American psyche and convert Sept. 11 into a day of leftist celebration and statist idolatry. This effort to reshape the American psyche has nothing to do with healing the nation and everything to do with easing the nation along in the ongoing radical transformation of America that President Obama promised during last year's election campaign. The president signed into law a measure in April that designated Sept. 11 as a National Day of Service, but...

The quote of the day from President Obama: “There is something about August going into September where everybody in Washington gets all wee weed up!” Now I realize that Matt Drudge is having a little fun running this photo on the right with this quote, but remember how tired Candidate Obama used to get? President Obama needs a nap. Even though he is on vacation, he is frantically doing interviews as he flails about trying to avoid having his popularity fall — oh no — below 50% approval. And so he’s going whee-whee all the way home. Or maybe...

Franklin D. Roosevelt “The Economic Bill of Rights” Excerpt from 11 January 1944 message to Congress on the State of the Union It is our duty now to begin to lay the plans and determine the strategy for the winning of a lasting peace and the establishment of an American standard of living higher than ever before known. We cannot be content, no matter how high that general standard of living may be, if some fraction of our people—whether it be one-third or one-fifth or one-tenth—is ill-fed, ill-clothed, ill-housed, and insecure. This Republic had its beginning, and grew to its...

Former President Bill Clinton urged a gathering of liberal bloggers and activists to unite behind President Obama and Democrats on health care and climate change legislation if they want a new progressive era to last up to 40 years. Back in the spotlight after returning from a successful mission to North Korea that won release of two American journalists, Clinton delivered an hour-long keynote at the Netroots Nation convention Thursday in Pittsburgh, Pa. He told the group that as president he never had a Democratic filibuster-proof majority in Congress to push through health care reform, and pleaded for activists to...

After a gentle rebuke from the president, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-CA, said today she regrets using the term ‘un-American’ in Monday’s USA Today op-ed to describe protesters at health care reform townhall meetings held by Democrat lawmakers. “The president is right,” said Rep. Pelosi, “They’re not un-American. The proper term might be ‘guest protesters’. But since they weren’t really invited to the townhalls, technically they’re ‘undocumented agitators’. However, they are entitled to all the rights and benefits of full American citizenship, including the right to free speech, the right to petition their government for the redress of grievances, and...

Over the weekend, Democrat congressional leaders Nancy Pelosi and Steny Hoyer wrote of the recent protests taking place in town hall meetings around the country, “These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American.” The White House is concerned that their health care plan is not being accurately characterized. They have even encouraged Americans who read or hear their friends and neighbors saying anything “fishy” to report them to flag@whitehouse.gov.Democrats’ concerns about allowing all viewpoints to be heard accurately would be a lot...

After denying for 4 years that the Crescent of Embrace memorial to Flight 93 will contain 44 inscribed memorial panels (equaling the number of passengers, crew, AND terrorists) the Memorial Project has announced a new design that appears to collapse three of the panels into one: Artist's depiction of the slightly altered design for the Sacred Ground Plaza. Back in 2008, New York Times correspondent David S. Rohde, along with Afghan reporter Taki Luden, were abducted in Pakistan by the Taliban. Because they felt it might adversely affect hostage rescue efforts, the Times requested a news black-out. The Associated Press and other news agencies respected the request and only broke the story recently, after Rohde and Luden had scaled a wall and made their escape. It would be nothing other than a story with a happy ending, except that the Times has time and again ignored the government’s requests that it not report the specific ways in which...

Christian Organization Denied Free Speech Rights At Arab International Festival Restrictions requested by Dearborn police upheld in court Dear AMERICA, Imagine a large Christian festival being held on public streets in a major city. A Muslim organization dispatches volunteers to mix and mingle with festival attendees, handing out pro-Muslim leaflets. WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama is ready to roll out an overhaul of the intricate rules and systems that govern America's troubled financial institutions, proposing the most ambitious revision since the Great Depression. The goal is to prevent a recurrence of the economic crisis that erupted in the United States and exploded last fall with devastating consequences still reverberating around the world. Unlike the government's temporary ownership stake in automakers and major financial companies, the regulatory changes set to be announced Wednesday are designed to be permanent. They could result in a major realignment of power and authority among government...

In “Fiddler on the Roof,” the hero Tevye sang of how he wished he were wealthy. “If I Were a Rich Man” became a Broadway and movie favorite as a catchy tune and even catchier sentiment. As the struggling Russian peasant explained, “It’s no shame to be poor, but it’s no great honor either.” No, today, the shame is being rich, and President Obama seems determined to bestow the “honor” of poverty on as many as possible. Forget the horrendous tax-and-spend policies that gradually impoverish us all. Obama’s new target is a direct one – the evil, greedy CEO. To...

The question of whether or not America is heading towards some form of “socialism” keeps popping up. This is not surprising, given the decision to push Chrysler into bankruptcy and to create in effect a government take-over of General Motors. Writing in USA Today, Jonah Goldberg mocks those same liberals who hope that America is moving towards some form of European social-democracy and who at the same time yell and scream when the Republicans accuse them of favoring socialism. Of course, there is nothing wrong with believing in and hoping that America becomes a social-democracy. It is a legitimate point...

PITTSBURGH – The government will begin taking land from seven property owners so that the Flight 93 memorial can be built in time for the 10th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks, the National Park Service said. "But with few exceptions, these negotiations have been unsuccessful," said the statement, which was to be released later Thursday. The seven property owners own about 500 acres still...

Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto and Secretary of State Ross Miller announced Monday that voter registration fraud charges have been filed against an organization that works with low-income people and two of its employees in its Las Vegas office. The Association of Community Organization for Reform Now, Inc., also known as ACORN, operated a Las Vegas office that helped register low-income voters last year. Throughout 2008, ACORN employed canvassers to register people to vote in Nevada, the complaint said. ACORN paid the...

During the recent Latin American summit, Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez gave U.S. President Barack Obama a book. The book is Las venas abiertas de América Latina (Latin America’s Open Veins) the lesser-known subtitle is Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent, by the Uruguayan Marxist Eduardo Galeano. Presumably, Obama has no idea about the author’s identity or the book’s importance. In fact, though, this book written in 1968 is perhaps the biggest-selling political tract in Latin American history. It argues that the continent is poor because its wealth has been stolen by American corporations. Consequently, it argues, Latin American...

I stopped watching Bill Maher a long time ago, and it’s moments like this that remind me why he’s a waste of broadcast air time. Just seven weeks into his presidency, Barack “Corleone” Obama has gone to the mattresses. His administration has lunged ruthlessly for the jugulars of its critics. His cabinet has more tax cheats than McKellys in a Dublin phone book. Crackdown on lobbyists? Fahgettaboudit. Earmark reform? We don’t need no stinking earmark reform. “Today,” the new don pontificates, “I settle all family business” — e.g., nationalizing the energy industry, socializing the health care system, and federalizing American education. Obama has parasitically used a correctable housing bubble burst and banking crises to power-grab and commit the country to more spending than at any...

RALEIGH -- Home-school groups and conservatives across the country are infuriated by a Wake County judge's declaration that he will make a North Raleigh mother stop teaching her children at home and send them to public schools. The underhanded Obama administration has quietly moved to rescind the “conscience clause” found in agreements between the federal government and Catholic hospitals. Back on January 29, we discussed [1] the daily strategy phone call engineered by Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel for friendly TV commentators and "reporters." Politico reported that Emanuel has a daily phone conference call with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, and CNN's James Carville and Paul Begala. With Rush Limbaugh's raucous CPAC address, as he termed it his "first address to the nation," we can see at least one example of what is likely an attack strategy resulting from the Emanuel phone session with a rush to bash Rush the day after the appearance.
