I’m thinking these soldiers are alive because these bombers are incompetent. It looks to me like the bomb was simply buried too deep, and spent too much of its energy uselessly. Otherwise, we’d be looking at a funeral video.

That’s what I was thinking. Looked like even if the truck was right on top of it probably would have upended the truck giving passengers bumps, bruises, and maybe a broken bone. Glad these guys were okay.

Bingo! Thankfully the IED placement team was more successful at excavating dirt than blowing up a Stryker or truck with our guys in it!

Too close for comfort - but close enough for prayers!

The bombers were lazy. Instead of digging they placed it in an existing drainage culvert that went under the road.

Of course, an explosion tends to follow the path of least resistance...in this case the open ends of the culvert more than the sand and asphalt of the road above.
