Bingo! Thankfully the IED placement team was more successful at excavating dirt than blowing up a Stryker or truck with our guys in it!
Too close for comfort - but close enough for prayers!
I am guessing that all the charge never went off. It might have been a cluster of artillery shells and only the one fused actually went off or it would have been a much more violent explosion.
Is it my imagination, or does it look like the bomb was somehow “paved over”? It looks like it’s punching through the asphalt, and that raises a whole lot of other questions, if that’s the case.
