What else is there to do on Thursdays besides FReep and listen to TSN?! C'mon, do you really have something better going on?

I saw a good movie the other night, It might be hard to find. FLYWHEEL
Jay Austin is a "lip service" Christian (someone who claims to believe in Jesus, but doesn't act like it, a hypocrite in other words), who owns a used car lot. He lies to his customers and cheats them when he sells cars. He is a lousy husband and father and his marriage isn't going great. On top of this, his used car business is $32,000 behind to the bank, who threaten to repossess all the cars on the lot. One night while watching t.v., Jay encounters a preacher on television with a message that hits Jay over the head, making him realize what a jerk and dishonest person he's been. Jay repents, and turns his life over to the Lord. God then begins to work out the problems in Jay's life. It is truly inspiring to watch.

memorex.
Recorded earlier but not "best of." A new genre. Perhaps, "sort of."
That's my guess.

IMDB has everything. Don’t check out Takashi Miike, the director.

Looks like he's recorded some contemporary stuff then filled in with "best of." Like I said, "sort of" and no need to announce "You're listening too . . . ." He loses too many listeners when the voice says that, I suppose.
He certainly has the right to take all the time off he needs but is it really, really too much to have a guest host? Otherwise, I find my own guest host down the dial. Today I stayed tune, slim pickings.
I was pretty young during W.W.II but I don't remember any "best of" from anyone. One reason, it took several hundred pounds of 78's to record a three-hour show. :)
