Albany Prosecutor Clears Spitzer Aides
New York Times ^ | 20 SEPT 2007 | Nicholas Confessore

One major potential headache for Gov. Eliot Spitzer now seems as if it will go away. P. David Soares, the Albany County District Attorney, released a statement a few minutes ago that tomorrow he will be releasing his final report on whether aides to Mr. Spitzer violated state laws when they asked the state police to gather information about Senate Majority Leader Joseph L. Bruno’s travels on state aircraft.

According to Mr. Soares, his report won’t merely clear Mr. Spitzer’s aides of criminal wrongdoing. It will clear them of any wrongdoing, period.

The attorney general, the governor, and Mr. Soares are all Democrats.

Major democrat party whitewash cover-up of the despicable Elliot Spitzer. The only good news is that he is such an explosive little thug, that he will act out again inevitably.

Apparently, it’s a universal truth that the only time laws are broken are when they’re committed by Republicans.

Spitzer is going to wind up as a Governor more corrupt than Rendell and Corzine combined... Perhaps right up there with Edwin Edwards on the all-time list...

It's probably worse than that.  With Cuomo vanquished and Spitzer now "cleared", it's highly likely that the corrupt little tyrant is at the top of the list to be Attorney General should Hil win in 2008.

This guy will make Janet Reno look tame by comparison.

I heard this on my car radio while I was out running errands today. I couldn't believe it. So it's okay for political appointees, in other words, aides to the Governor, to use the State Police to spy on others? And the Dems are bitching about the NSA listening into phone calls of individuals with terrorist connections? What the hell is wrong with this picture?

I agree with you about Spitzer. He is a nasty little thug who will hopefully hang himself one of these days. May it be sooner rather than later.

Excellent point. The democrats could care a rat's patootie about privacy laws when it comes to misuse of government intelligence gathering and illegally spying on Republicans or the public (think Hillary or Spitzer).

But these very same vermin says we can't spy on al Queda.
