Isaiah 25

1O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

2For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built.

3Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee.

4For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

5Thou shalt bring down the noise of strangers, as the heat in a dry place; even the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.

6And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.

7And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.

8He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

9And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for this beautiful fall day and for the knowledge of Your grace in our lives. Father, this morning in the service we were reminded that with You, failing does not mean You are a failure, and that no matter how far we have fallen You can still lift us up and use us for our good and Your glory. Oh, the profoundness of Your love and grace. How measureless Your mercy towards us. Though we do not deserve it, You have loved us and such a thought is beyond our comprehension. All we can do is say, thank You. Thank You for all You are and for all that You do.

Father, I pray for our President today. I ask for Your presence to be near him and Your blessings to be upon Him as He follows You. Father, if he strays, bring him back. If he listens to the wrong voices about things, wreck his peace. Father, for his good and for the good of this nation and for Your glory, we pray that You would have Your way in the life of this President and that his chief desire would be to please You.

Lord, I pray for Israel. Father, things are heating up with Syria and they are threatening to destroy the apple of Your eye. Lord, protect Your people in Israel and may their hearts and eyes look to You to save them. Father, may the Syrians turn from the evil that they are conspiring to in the form of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction. May they come to know You as well. But, if they will not, may they not harm the innocents in the land of Israel.

Finally, Ahmadinejad is coming to New York. Open the hearts of the people to Your ways so that they will not be deceived by the propaganda he will bring with him.

Father, glorify Your name in all the earth. Glorify Your name in Your church. May our groom soon return for us and may He be forever exalted. For it is in His precious name, the name of Jesus Christ that I pray these things, Amen.

O God who hears our prayers, may Your Holy Name be glorified on this beautiful Sabbath. May all people sing of Your power, and proclaim aloud Your mercy, for You have been our defense and refuge in the day of trouble. Blessed is the Name of the Lord, the Most High God. Amen.

This is the day of Atonement. (Yom Kippur). This is the day the veil in the temple was torn from top to bottom. This is the day that the way was opened through Christ our Lord. Praise to our Lord for his great day of reconciliation.

Prayers for President Bush. Prayers for tomorrow and that you, Lord, would thwart the plans of the evil one. God bless America. God Bless His people. All glory be to God Almighty.
