Lord, but Danny boy has some nerve. I watched a FNC program this weekend, and they debated whether Rather would win his court case. The amount is ridiculous, and someone said the case will be settled out of court for a smaller amount.
Which may be the objective all along. Any settlement by CBS will be spun as "see, they couldn't prove the documents were forgeries, that's why they had to settle!" CBS gets to reform their own image, along with Rather's, and they can claim that the "nominal" settlement amount simply made good business sense, to play both sides against the middle.
