"Early this summer, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clintons campaign for president learned that the mens magazine GQ was working on a story the campaign was sure to hate: an account of infighting in Hillaryland.
So Clintons aides pulled a page from the book of Hollywood publicists and offered GQ a stark choice: Kill the piece, or lose access to planned celebrity coverboy Bill Clinton.
Despite internal protests, GQ editor Jim Nelson met the Clinton campaigns demands, which had been delivered by Bill Clintons spokesman, Jay Carson, several sources familiar with the conversations said.
GQ writer George Saunders traveled with Clinton to Africa in July, and Clinton is slated to appear on the cover of GQs December issue, in which it traditionally names a Man of the Year, according magazine industry sources.
And the offending article by Atlantic Monthly staff writer Josh Green got the spike.
I dont really get into the inner workings of the magazine, but I can tell you that yes, we did kill a Hillary piece. We kill pieces all the time for a variety of reasons, Nelson said in an e-mail to Politico.
He did not respond to follow-up questions. A Clinton campaign spokesman declined to comment.
The campaigns transaction with GQ opens a curtain on the Clinton campaigns hard-nosed media strategy, which is far closer in its unromantic view of the press to the campaigns of George W. Bush than to that of Bill Clintons free-wheeling 1992 campaign."

There will be plenty of Arkancide to go around, the day the Shrew gets elected.
Part of the VAST LEFTIST CONSPIRACY!
Why in the world would anyone want Bill Clinton as their "coverboy"?
George was a great urban suburbanite in the 50s with many movies to his credit, playing the suave, sophisticated dilettante; he was the bored rich boy dripping with ironic condescension or airy nothings. Yes, he is dead but the gravedigger, qua vampire, Bill Clinton knows how the put on a show for the living dead and fashionably fashionable. Drag out the-name-sake George and try to give GQ and the Clintonestas some class. Guerrilla warfare for the hip in the hip trenches of the most trenchant. Photos anyone? Lets see George before Bill. Maybe it is the same person from the 50s.
Democrats using threats, intimidation, and coersion to acheive political gains and engage in a protection racket...Sounds like crimes that are punished using RICO laws.
If the woman were caught with a smoking AK-47 and twenty cops lay dead just feet away, she’d be exhonerated by the press.
The press will lipstick up this pig until the day she dies.
Has there ever been a democrat politico that the press didn’t shill for? Ever?
Business as usual. They did the same throughout Billdo's years in the White House.
Of course, the real question is: why is GQ the one running a story like this?
Mr. Green is lucky Hillary didn't insist that he take the private tour of this place with some of her Whitewater Security guards (those are the guys with the white helicopters).
“These thugs will terrorize anyone that makes them look bad!!”
Getting a story buried is certainly dirty stuff.
The Clintons are punks, liars, adulterers. amoral assholes they are.
Like I’ve time-traveled back to 1995.
