Drivers to thank wounded soldiers: a few NASCAR drivers will pay “Tribute to the Soldiers” this Wednesday, September 26th at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C., along with NASCAR’s Brian France, Fox’s Darrell Waltrip and wife Stevie, drivers David Stremme, Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman, and Tony Stewart. Drivers and executives will participate in the day-long tribute to the nation’s soldiers, their families and hospital staff members with autograph sessions, ward visits, and a Q&A session.(PR)(9-26-2007)

These were the two best NASCAR announcers of all time. Buddy could watch a car, see it do something funny that no one else saw, and predict what was wrong and what would happen. Ten laps later, it would happen. Boy, I miss those days.

Stopped by the local Wally World after work for cat and dog food. Kurt Busch was there signing autographs. Someone had a racing tire for him to sign and someone else brought in a car hood. He did seem very relaxed and talked a lot to people and posed for pictures with them.
Car and hauler were very cool and they had a pit stop thing where fans could try changing a tire.
Too bad I’m not a fan of either Busch but Kurt is better than Kyle.

OH! ...... one of the funniest things I ever heard Buddy say. He was watching Dale run wide open, all loose and swerving around people (I forget what track), and said after a bunch of laps, "Folks ....... that was the biggest wreck you'll ever see that didn't happen."

We are getting our first rain since early July here in Eureka. It will probably give us 1/4 of an inch :)
