I did hear a news commentator quote a geologist that this quake indicated a previously unknown fault and that the quake may portend to more activity.

We had one in Mount Angel area about 25 or so miles east of this, maybe six years ago. it was larger and I definitely felt it. Damage done to the Mount Angel seminary, too.

I worked with someone who lived about 10 miles from the 7.2 Loma Prieta (SF) quake. He said he could see the seismic waves coming down the street.

6.2 at Cold Bay. Hardly worth a thread.

(25 degrees today. Phase state change accomplished.)

Also a 5.8 and a 5.2 at Cold Bay. That’s three today, but still not worth a thread.

Even with the 5-something closer to Anchorage today it still isn’t worth a thread. 7 plus might rate. This is Alaska where only 16% care enough to come out to vote unless it is something BIG.

Close to 45th meridian too! Any meaning to that? "Half-way between the equator and the north pole" ... That's what the highway signs say.
(OBTW, it's the 45th Parallel. You may be thinking of the "Willamette Meridian," just NW of Portland, which forms the basis for all surveying west of the Cascades....)
