Cindy Sheehan Deliberately Avoided Court Appearance Today; Rebukes 'Fascist' Law Enforcers
Thursday, September 27, 2007 | Kristinn

Posted on 09/27/2007 5:43:33 PM PDT by kristinn

Cindy Sheehan, in a statement published online at OpEdNews.com this evening, announced that she had deliberately avoided her scheduled court appearance in Washington, D.C. today for her arrest outside a House committee hearing room on September 10. A bench warrant for her arrest was issued by a Washington, D.C. Superior Court judge around noon today after she failed to appear for an 8:30 a.m. hearing.

Sheehan's spokeswoman, Tiffany Burns, had earlier explained Sheehan's absence from court today as a mix up that would be rectified by Sheehan's lawyer.

Sheehan, who is running for Congress against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on an anti-American platform, issued this statement on her missed day in court:

I was supposed to be in court today in Washington, DC for my last arrest. I didn’t go because I am not under allegiance and repudiate the fascists that run our government and the enforcers who are doing their best Nazi-job of “following orders” in oppressing our rights as Americans.

Why are they beating up a Reverend who served in the Air Force, and honorably left after the illegal and immoral invasion of Iraq, for wanting to attend a hearing in Congress?

Why are they arresting a Gold Star Mother for exercising the very freedoms for which George Bush freakishly says her son died?

Why are my daughter and assistant under indictment for Contempt of Congress when BushCo have steadily refused to testify before committees under oath, or any other way? As a matter of fact, Betray-Us wasn’t even put under oath that day in the House.

Sheehan went on to question why the antiwar movement hasn't done more to "over throw this fascism right now?"

Fox News reported earlier today on the bench warrant issued for Sheehan:

"She wasn't aware that there was a court appearance today," said Sheehan's spokeswoman, Tiffany Burns, reached by cell phone.

"We'll have the attorney deal with this immediately, so as soon as she's rescheduled to appear, she'll be there," Burns added.

Burns said Sheehan was at home in California Thursday, and did not receive the paperwork notifying her of the court date.

However, a court document obtained by FOXNews.com dated Sept. 10, signed by Sheehan, advised her to appear Thursday at 8:30 a.m. The warrant issued Thursday sets a $50 bond for her arrest.

While it is doubtful extradition will be sought for Sheehan's misdemeanor arrest, her next visit to the nation's capital should be interesting.

I pity her. Its clear her mind is long gone and she should be in a mental institution. She is a sick mentally defective woman who is being used as a puppet.

I wonder if mamma Sheehan has ever met somebody who was a real victim of fascism. What a mental midget.

I figured this was where this would go.

I got 6 months in jail for failing to appear for court and I didn’t do it for attention. I say she should get at least a year.

If only justice and freedom reigned here like in Mahmoud’s world, Chavezland, and Castroville, all would be well in Cindy’s discombobulated universe. /sarc

Only $50 bench warrant for Sheehan's arrest? That's not even worth cuffing her for.

Too bad they didn't swear out a $10,000 bench warrant on her. I'd cuff her myself and haul her across country to appear in court.

I bet I could get a license to operate as an armed skip tracer out of Nevada in about thirty minutes and a $25 fee.

Wouldn't that be fun to apprehend Cindy Sheehan like 'Dog' does on TV.

Too bad the lawyer didn't issue that statement. S/he'd be facing perjury charges. Perhaps the judge won't look too kindly on being dissed in such a public manner.

Wow, with a campaign speech like this one she might really win over the moonbats of northern CA.... or at least all the ones that still remember their loony SDS talking points from 40 years ago....

"I was supposed to be in court today in Washington, DC for my last arrest. I didn’t go because I am not under allegiance and repudiate the fascists that run our government and the enforcers who are doing their best Nazi-job of “following orders” in oppressing our rights as Americans."

She has a right to a fair hearing, and was assigned one. She did not show up, so the “fascist” state has the right to throw her @$$ in JAIL!

I used to pity her, but it is wasted on her kind.

So which is it? She knew about it and refused to show? Or her assistant goofed? *eyeroll* Well - she thinks she's above the law and entitled - lefties ought to love her! Shudder. I've said it before, instead of a platform she needs grief counseling and some time to heal, not lefties using her (though they seem about done with her now and will dump her when they are).

It would be nice if they throw her in jail for awhile. We need another break from her silliness.

Maybe it's because I FReep too much, but I have bad dreams about being in jail...or maybe it's because I spent a couple of years being stateside in the Marine Corps, which is basically the same as being a shitbird. Both scenarios suck, bigtime.

So which one is correct? You can't have it both ways, either she wasn't informed or she purposely dissed the U.S. Court system.

Furthermore, if she isn't under allegiance to the U.S. then please go to which every country of your choosing that you would like to direct your allegiance. May I suggest Iran, Nigeria, Venezuela or some other third world nation with a despot dictator.
