HAMMOND -- The 48-year-old son of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan claims he has never paid income tax, provides no support to the four mothers of his nine children, and lives off $350 he picks up each week from a secretary at his father's home on the South Side of Chicago. Attorneys for a Gary couple who were injured in a 2003 crash in which Nasir Farrakhan twice rammed their compact car while driving his father's Hummer on the Indiana Toll Road would like some of that income to go toward the $350,000 in damages they were awarded in a civil lawsuit.
"Basically, (Nasir Farrakhan) is a man whom you can tell from today has never honored any of his obligations," said David Jensen, attorney for Charles and Gladys Peterson.
Farrakhan said he had not worked since he lost his post as head of his father's security detail after the crash.
Since that time, he has lived with a string of girlfriends and in a seedy Lakeview hotel, where Nation of Islam members sent by his father dropped off envelopes with cash.
The Petersons were paid a $465,000 settlement by Farrakhan's insurance company, but he has not made good on an order to pay off more than $50,000 for the Petersons' medical bills that was part of his guilty plea to reckless driving in state court.
Louis Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam were dropped as defendants in the Petersons' civil lawsuit.

The Petersons' have already collected $465,000 from poppa's (I presume) insurance &, w/o knowing the details of the 'damages' they're claiming, I don't have a lot of sympathy for them concerning the civil suit.
They are, because he runs a number of the Nation Of Islam's sketchier businesses, and the four women are the four wives he is allowed under the Nation's religious teaching.
His wives and his children are well taken care of - it's just all off the books.
He lives in hotels, runs a number of businesses that transact solely in cash and operates through a number of Nation intermediaries.
