You are kidding right? The list is too lengthy.

I forgot about the commercial aspect, I was wondering more about personal use. Even if I choose to buy pre-made patties at the store, I purchase unfrozen and freeze them myself.

Who the heck buys frozen ground beef, and why? I’m honestly curious.

I buy frozen 1/3lb burger patties that contain 20% vidalia onion. They're really good and super convenient for a quick burger on the grill. Don't have to keep fresh ground beef around or thaw a frozen package.

It easy to forget commercial, but many stores sell “fresh ground beef” that has been frozen previously. Best bet is to buy directly from a local butcher which I do. It doesn’t cost anymore and it tastes better and you know where your beef is coming from.

I never bought frozen, preformed patties, but earlier this year I stopped buying ground beef from the supermarket and bought a grinder attachment for my KitchenAid. Now I just buy a chuck roast and grind it up at home for burgers or meatloaf.

Marriott Hotels for their restaurants. It is a firing offense to buy non frozen hamburger from someone other than the hotel’s source. It turns out that Mr Marriott likes rare burgers, so all hotels must purchase prefrozen ground beef that has been tested for e-coli.

Holy cow (npi) I have some of them in my freezer. Looks like Sam's Choice was my bad choice too.

As to who buys frozen ground beef ... McD's and NVA. Slap a few frozen patties on the grill and you have a e-coli sandwich when you're finished, it would appear.

We have a guy who comes around and sells Gold Brand packaged meats. I buy about three cases every time he stops by.

They are an outfit out of Illinois, I think.

That isn’t Crisco (which is a vegetable shortening), that’s lard!

Hehehe, sorry should have been more clear. I hunt Elk. I usually have enough meat in my freezer to last (most) of the year....but I do give some away when friends or family have been on tough times.

When the game runs out, I go to one of two local butchers and order my beef.
