Jena, O. J. and the Jailing of Black America

Jena, O. J. and the Jailing of Black America By ORLANDO PATTERSON Cambridge, Mass.

THE miscarriage of justice at Jena, La. — where five black high school students arrested for beating a white student were charged with attempted murder — and the resulting protest march tempts us to the view, expressed by several of the marchers, that not much has changed in traditional American racial relations. However, a remarkable series of high-profile incidents occurring elsewhere in the nation at about the same time, as well as the underlying reason for the demonstrations themselves, make it clear that the Jena case is hardly a throwback to the 1960s, but instead speaks to issues that are very much of our times.

The regular writers must have been on vacation.

The fill-in’s views were not “known”.

Nice little story.

Thank LBJ's Great Society/War on Poverty.

Socialism always ends in salvery and death.

The circumstances that far too many African-Americans face — the lack of paternal support and discipline; the requirement that single mothers work regardless of the effect on their children’s care; the hypocritical refusal of conservative politicians to put their money where their mouths are on family values; the recourse by male youths to gangs as parental substitutes; the ghetto-fabulous culture of the streets; the lack of skills among black men for the jobs and pay they want; the hypersegregation of blacks into impoverished inner-city neighborhoods — all interact perversely with the prison system that simply makes hardened criminals of nonviolent drug offenders and spits out angry men who are unemployable, unreformable and unmarriageable, closing the vicious circle.

Interesting that almost all of these issues, are a direct result of socialist nanny state policies of the liberal democrats ideology.

Yet right in the middle they stick the word "conservative" and "hypocritical" as to make conservatives guilty by association

It's nice to read that the NYT's is actually addressing the real issues of the reason this problem exists, but again still fail to address the root problem of the core problem: FAILED DEMOCRATS SOCIAL POLICIES

LBJ’s “Great Society” chased black men from their families. Under the “Great Society,” black families were denied welfare if there was an adult male in the household.

Due to the racial situation at that time, many black men were unable to find jobs sufficient to support families. In order to be elegible for the family to be elegible for welfare, the black man had to move out.

Everything went downhill from then on.

Let me clarify my statement:

Under the “Great Society’” poor families, the overwhelming percentage of them black, were denied welfare if there was an adult male in the household.

but instead speaks to issues that are very much of our times.

Our local newspaper had an article about new security measures at one of the local schools systems. I thought I was reading an article about a prison system.

Don’t be misled by the fact that the NY Times prints an article with a glimmer of truth surrounded by a wealth of lies. Yes, it is true that the pathology within the Black community is the result of the destruction of Black “family values.” Even Jesse Jackson will say that right after he condemns white racism for that destruction. But the rest of the article about Jena is pure bull. Here is more of the story which has been as badly covered by the MSM as the Duke lacrosse non-rape case was.

It’s a myth that most of the poor were black. In fact, there were a lot more poor white people. Appalachia was full of them. It's just that the Rats rounded u the blacks and put them in Federal ghettos. That way the media could easily find them.

This wasn't so much a 'civil rights' march, defending 6 Blacks who attacked a single White victim who they put in the hospital, as it was a Democrat Voter Rally & March!

I truly believe the Race Pimps, Al & Jesse, in a coordinated effort with Democrat Party leaders were just looking for an incident, any incident, to play their worn out race card and trumpet the call to all Blacks that the Democrat Party is the party of Black Folk and anyone attempting to leave will be ostracized as an Uncle-Tom and pelted with Oreo cookies!

The War on Poverty is just the Leftist version of divide and conquer. The War was and is the War against Individual Freedom and the responsibilities needed for Freedom.

The Welfare Plantation.

Plantations are creatures made for the comfort and success of the plantation masters. In the old American South, this was done by keeping blacks physically and mentally imprisoned. Blacks were not to be taught to read, and were kept in constant state of superstitions and horror stories of the mean old Northern Yankees, freedom. Blacks even had the example of poor whites who had trouble economically competing with slave blacks. These whites, who were competitors to slave plantations, where often marginalized by the organized and wealthy plantation owners for capital and political rights.

Anyways after the Civil War the Democrats had a problem. At first they more or less tried to introduce modified financial slavery upon blacks, and at least economically and politically marginalize them as they had done poor whites. But Reconstruction and the US Army pinched that.

However, with the modern welfare state we have returned to the new Democratic plantation where Democrats can live off of Blacks and even poor whites. This new plantation model does not require crops, Blacks and Whites are the crop. Blacks and whites are to be uneducated. This de education process is done in Democrat schools which are designed to bore, and ruin any and all intellectual development. Public housing is to keep poor blacks and whites from developing a nest egg of capital, and to insure that they sociologically live in dysfunctional and unhealthy environment when they are not being destroyed in the schools.

Under the old physical plantation, although slaves were severely mentally restricted, most restrictions where physical. Todays plantation requires mental destruction, financial destruction and a nice thick coating of liberal Democratic sexual mores and drug utopianism.

All this now provide nice, soft, pensioned living for millions of Democrats in the de-education industries, police, drug counseling, AIDs therapy, public housing, prisons and even in the Democrat propaganda mills of Hollywood producing free love, pro drugs and now instilling gangsta hip-hop models on young plantation males. So long as the Democratic Neo-Plantation keeps growing dysfunctional people, the Democrats will have a fine living. An immoral evil living, but a fine one never the less.

I was speaking from my experience as a resident of the Chicago area at the time. The papers were full of stories about Poor families being “busted” when the welfare workers found a male in residence in the home.

I was mistaken.

Al & Jesse, in a coordinated effort with Democrat Party leaders

I noticed that, first Hillary, then Al and Jesse all pronounced the name of the town as "Jenna" when no one else in the widespread TV coverage did so. Reading from the same page?

It is a myth that most welfare recipients are white. The Left concocted that statement by classifying all Hispanic recipients as white (just as Hispanics are classified as white in the criminal statistics, but separated out as Hispanic when discussing crime victims):

From the 1996 stats

STATE
CHILDREN WHITE BLACK HISPANIC ASIAN AMERICAN KNOWN
-------------- --------- ----- ----- -------- ----- -------- -----
U.S. TOTAL 8,685,985 31.6% 38.4% 22.4% 3.8% 1.4% 2.4%
Note that the above is from 1996 and the number of poor Hispanics in the US has increased since then. Whites were just 31.6%, there were more blacks (38.4%) than whites on AFDC (despite a smaller percentage of population)

Poor families being “busted”

This is so true. I used to manage property back in the days, actually Section 236 housing; and the welfare inspectors would come and visit the apartments of women on welfare to “see” if there were any indications of a male around.

You must have missed the last sentence, which seems to call for MORE welfare.
