You labelled this story a hoax. That was ridiculous. And more incredibly, you are still taking issue with the story even though the Port of Oakland has now confirmed it happened. Apparently, you’ve entered Dan-Rather-Land where nothing will convince you that your original position was wrong.
Nope. You need reading lessons. I said it read like a hoax. Hoaxes come in email, have facts wrong and have inflammatory titles (Spitting on Marines, my ass).
Why are you so worried about what I think. I'll decide what to believe on my own time line. You need to shove off.
Are you still disputing Chaplain Harding’s email even though the Port of Oakland has confirmed it happened?
Thanks for the ping.
Good for Michelle.
I contacted the Navy chaplain who serves with the Marines to verify the e-mail on Friday.
This occurred after I emailed Michael Leeden about the mistake this morning and he thanked me for the correction.
This guy
Chaplain Brandon Harding
1ST BN 3D MARINES
...would disagree with you.
Incorrect. Brandon Harding would agree that he is a sailor, serving with 1st Battalion 3rd Marine Regiment, not a Marine. Just as the Corpsman serving with 1/3 are sailors, not Marines. His ID card, dog tags and OQR would indicate he is a sailor as well.
That being said, her comment that you complain about could simply mean a Chaplain that ministers to Marines.
Were that true, which it isn't, then she wouldn't have corrected her blog.
No problem
Right. Enough of a problem for you to stick your ill-informed nose into it, though.
Your flippant comments are indicative that you most likely never earned the title.
When a Navy Chaplain is assigned to a Marine unit, he is referred to as a “Marine Chaplain.”
Michelle Malkin has verified this story.
“What happened to our troops in Oakland (Port /Airport has history
of treating them badly)”
US Military personnel being badly treated in The Gay, er, Bay Area?
Imagine that!
(/SARC!!!!)
Actually, the idea of folks in Oakland being rude to US Military
does have me bummed.
I figured those sort of JERKS were in the Ghetto of San Francisco.
Which can easily be “bricked in” to the south and cut off from resupply
by closing a couple of bridges for a couple of months.
And suspending flights in/out of SFO.
Something I suspect that sophisticated pansies of San Francisco
won’t be able to effectively counter.
Michelle Malkin has verified this story.
Whoops. Sorry about the double ping.
I still don't know why the story is circulating with such an inflammatory title.
We are getting closer to something believable.Nothing about the story has changed except that it has been verified as accurate.
She’s adorable! I like her “I will not submit” t-shirt, (but would of course love to challenge it in another context [smile]).
Informally, perhaps but not exclusively. Officially he's a Navy Chaplain and should be referred to as such so as to avoid confusing those who don't know any better.
Oakland is former California governor Jerry Brown’s territory. Laughably, he’s now the head of law enforcement for the state! Can you believe it? I’m sure he’s mighty content with the marines’ treatment at OAK.
Reminds me of when Karl deployed. Second to last phone call I ever got, he was in Baltimore Washington airport, enroute to Iraq. They were apparently in the passenger terminal, and he was dragging a crate. Someone offered to help, but he politely refused. When asked what was in the crate, he delightedly replied “M-16s”. He was tickled pink to say that. I even have closeup pictures of the packing list showing the contents and serial numbers, LOL. Our Left Coast needs to be repositioned somewhat below sea level.
“Actually, the idea of folks in Oakland being rude to US Military does have me bummed.”
Told my husband about this and he said he just hoped the whole place would slide off into the ocean.
