As long as Romney saves a few bucks to give to Thompson when Fred gets the nod it will be fine. ;^)

Rudy only raised $10 million for all three months.

This is why Thompson’s numbers are so impressive.

Others explained it to you, but yeah, 3 weeks vs 3 months is quite telling.

3 weeks vs Rudy’s 3 months and he’s about 2 million behind. And this is after it’s been announced rudy is accepting donations from overseas.

3 weeks vs three months and he’s 7 million behind Romney, though Romney’s been donating to himself so who really knows his real figures.

Thompson’s figures were not be impressive for three months, but for three weeks? They are very good. And coing from so many small donors it indicates real ground support that translates into votes vs a couple of big checks from one or two people.

If Fred did raise $8 million since just since Sept 6th, than the math goes like this......

$8m-$9m x 3 months = $24-$27m per qrter.

$8m-$9m x 12 months = $96-$108 million per year.

I’d call that damn good!

To be on the safe side, Fred needs $50 million by Dec 31st.

Let's put it in a perspective you might understand. Mitt raised 10 mill.....and is still in a nosedive everywhere except where he spends oodles of cash.

Fred hasn't had to spend a lot and raise comparatively more cash and hold a pretty good lead in most polls vs Rudy and definitely a long way ahead of Mitt.

It's not about cash, which Mitt is spending like a sailor in a whorehouse, it's about the prospect.

Mitt doesn't have it.

Fred does.

Fred has something the others don’t. It’s not a big pile of money, It’s not a small handful of ultra rich contributors. It’s the ability to connect with people. Everyday run of the mill ordinary Joe’s and Fred’s. People who will contribute a hundred dollars now and another hundred when they can. And maybe another couple hundred if he needs it after the debates. Serious donors who are regular voters. Unlike these twenty five dollar first time donor and first time voter types Obama and Hillary will attract. My feeling is that after he dispatches his gop opponents things will really look up. Once America sees him in the debates Hillary will be the one desperately in need of funds. She will need more than just Chinese money to beat Fred.

the joke goes: If voting mattered the left would never have agreed to allow it.

The MSM assumes they can manipulate votes by the amount of exposure or lack of exposure they give candiddates. If it was just a senile walter cronkite, they might have had an 1970’s chance to pull it off.

The real issue is how many more people will be getting info from the internet by jan 5.

It was frequently posted here that Thompson would draw money and that he had caused people to pause.

70,000 supporters who gave money. That alone is significant because the pro have formulas.

Every person who donates represents so many people who would vote for the candidate.

You can’t do a straight-line projection like that in this case.

You had a whole lot of people just waiting for Thompson to declare for them to open their wallets. That “bulge” in the cash flow has passed.

Can he use it to catch up with his rivals? Maybe. But don’t bet the mortgage on his next few months.

Sure I can. In fact, I just did. Showing what Fred`s fund raising numbers may have looked like had he gotten in sooner, is relevant in the big picture. It also gives folks some idea how Fred will do between now and January. A little optimism goes a long way.
