On September 11, 1683, the Viennese drove a Muslim army out of Austria and back to the middle east.

Only partly were "viennese" involsed in this famous battle.

First as to who fought the Muslim Turks

King Jan III Sobieski of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth had been made Commander in Chief of
his own 30,000-man Polish forces (Lithuanians did not take part in the battle),
18,500 Austrian troops led by Charles V, Duke of Lorraine,
19,000 Franconian, Swabian and Bavarian troops led by Prince Georg Friedrich of Waldeck,
9,000 Saxon troops led by John George III, Elector of Saxony.

Second they were driven not back to the middle east but back to the Balkans where they stayed for several hundreds more years...raping pillaging, forcefully converting etc. until the first war of independence against them by the Greeks in 1821.

And by the way the Muslim Turks are trying to get back into the European Union today..hopefully they will not.

Austrian and German news sites are reporting that a second person, known to the initial suspect, has also now been arrested.

The suspect had tried to enter the US embassy, but then fled into the street when the metal detector at the entrance went off.

Austrian police say the 42-year-old Bosnian suspect in custody appeared confused and was not talking much.

Article just says he visited the embassy - didn’t say he was inside it. Probably just checking for a place to leave the backpack. Sounds like he got spooked and/or chickened out.

Whoa—I would have expected to find Seventh Day Adventist literature inside. I thought Islam was the religion of peace. What’s the world coming to. I think a need another cup of coffee.

Pflug is a plow. Gasse is a small street, even a alley.

Literally Pfluggasse is Plow Street, or perhaps in an earlier era, a plowed street.

Bosnia: Foiled attack on US embassy linked to Islamists

Snippets from article:

Sarajevo, 5 Oct. (AKI) - Two Bosnians arrested this week in connection with a foiled attack on the US embassy in Vienna are allegedly linked to a radical Islamist Wahabi movement, the Bosnian daily Nezavisne novine said on Friday.

Police on Monday arrested 42-year-old Bosnian, Asim Cejvanovic, when he entered the embassy grounds with a rucksack of explosives. It was later alleged that Cejvanovic was mentally ill and he was taken to a prison hospital.

During questioning, Cejvanovic told police he was told to carry the explosives to the embassy by another Bosnian, Mehmed Djudic, who was later arrested.

According to Vienna media reports, Djudic has been connected to Muhamed Porca, who heads the Vienna branch of the Bosnian Wahabi movement which preaches radical Islam.

Porca's group, which is reportedly the main financier of the Wahabi movement in Bosnia, has been under police surveillance for some time, Vienna media reported.

Darko Trifunovic, a professor at Belgrade University's faculty of security studies and terrorism expert, told Adnkronos International (AKI), Cejvanovic may have been used only to test security around the embassy, because no detonators were found in his possession.

"They have used a mentally deranged person in the hope that the whole thing would end there," Trifunovic said. "But the real question is from whom did he get the explosives".

Hand grenades don't require "detonators" - they just have a kind of striker or hammer built into them to spark, don't they?
