I received the above via email. I thought it was great. I figured I would see what FR thought about it.

The Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed The poll taker chose the word "unhappy".
What we are in intellectually offended by open borders, Hollywood sleaze, big government and traitors in Washington.
Unhappy is their word for it.

An enjoyable dose of some positive, commonsense thought. :-)

I've seen that email and I think its ridiculous. In other words it states shut up and be grateful for what you have...
Well America has these amenities because Americans have worked their asses off and paid for them.
There was no standard-of-living faerie that came and gave it to us.

All excellent points!! Thanks for posting. Personally, I don’t think there is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen.Yep. There was a time when people were grateful just to be an American. Still some of those folks around, but too few.

God I loved my grandparents. They were all born in the 1880’s and they all died in the 1960’s. They worked hard and lived full lives through numerous national hardships including many wars, a flu epidemic, and the Great Depression. I enjoy a material standard of living, health care, and creature comforts that they could have never imagined possible on a middle class income. That said they enjoyed a level of civility and decency that is a very very distant childhood memory to me. I have worked hard and tried to live life to the fullest. But I would be happier if I could trade the stupid cell phones, the several hundred channel satellite universe, the broadband internet experience, the discretionary income to eat out several times a week, and the vehicle with all the creature comforts for that level of civility and decency which was a constant in their life time.
