Narrative: A Florida AMBER Alert has been issued for Alyssa Frank. She has naturally curly brown hair with blonde streaks on the top, hazel eyes, freckles, and 3 piercings on both ears. She was last seen in the area of 4000th block of Shay Dr. in Bartow, possibly wearing a pink or black "Tinkerbell” shirt, jeans, and black tennis shoes with gray and black checkered shoelaces.
The child may be in the company of William Joe Mitchell, a 46 year old white male, who is a registered sex offender out of the Jacksonville area. They may be traveling in a 2000 model black Chevrolet Lumina, Florida tag number G025EL.

I looked all over that linked site but couldn’t find anything on this. I had to google “florida amber alert” to get any info. States should make Amber Alerts top priority on their front pages.
While I can’t imagine the horror this family is going through, I have to ask if there is more to this story. Don’t get me wrong, I pray she is found quickly and unharmed but does this creep have any connection with the family? Doing a google search and looking on Google Earth, the area where she was taken looks to be a quiet, out of the way neighborhood surrounded by farm land. It’s also 200 miles away from Jacksonville, so what brought him to that area? And there seems to be quite a lot of definitive info on them both for this to be a random kidnapping. Doing a quick people search, there is a woman with the last name of Frank living on Shay Street. Could this be yet another incident of a child’s worst nightmare is mom’s boyfriend?
Is there a nearby state who’s laws allow a 15 year old to marry? Just throwing out ideas...
As I understand it they met on the Internet.
In 2002, authorities say, Mitchell was charged with lewd or lascivious battery on a victim between the ages of 12 and 15 years old. He is now on probation.
Detectives say Mitchell has no known connection with the girl’s family, but during the investigation it has been discovered that Mitchell and Alyssa have had several conversations. They now believe he traveled from Jacksonville to Polk County, and that the two are together.
Sheriff Grady Judd said on Tuesday morning that the two communicated via websites such as MySpace. A visit to the website revealed that Alyssa’s MySpace page is set to private, but it does show that her last login date was October 2.
Authorities believe Alyssa snuck out of her bedroom between 2:45 and 3:00 a.m. on Monday. They say she told friends she was ‘running away for love.’
I don’t know. Now days just about anything is possible. I think I just am empathetic as to the feelings of her parents/family. I think I’d be a basket case. It would be good that they find her alive and unharmed. Sadly Florida has a bad record for girls who have been taken by previous sex offenders.

Considering the girl’s age, and where she lives, I’m wondering if it’s a situation where she ‘met’ the guy on the Internet, and she decided to meet him in real life. I’m assuming that she didn’t tell her parents, nor did she know that he was a sex offender. She may not have even know his real age; he could have told her anything.

Yep, I knew it wasn't some random kidnapping for him to have traveled 200 miles to that particular neighborhood. Why any parent allows their child on MySpace is beyond all reason.
local news just reported that many of his previous crimes were also violent... this girl is more blessed than she probably may know.
