Leading Democratic Contenders Approve Homosexual Fairy Tale for 7-Year-olds

NEW HAMPSHIRE, October 2, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - So far the leading Democratic presidential candidates seem to be in a mad race to outdo each other in a quest for the "gay" vote.  In the most recent Democrat debate held on September 27th in New Hampshire, Clinton, Obama and Edwards once again catered to homosexual activists in responding to a question regarding pro-homosexual curriculum being introduced in public schools as early as the second grade.

The pivotal question focused on a homosexual "fairy-tale" that was read to a class of seven-year-olds in Massachusetts.  The story, selected as reading for a class on marriage, told the story of a young prince who rejects the pressures of his family to find a bride and instead chooses to marry a fellow prince.  The two men marry, kiss (complete with an image in the book) and, as typical in fairy tales, live happily ever after.

The presidential candidates were asked if they would object to their children being read such a story in school.  All three leading contenders - Obama, Clinton and Edwards - have previously indicated that they fully support same-sex civil unions but stop short of endorsing full recognition of same-sex "marriage".

John Edwards first answered the debate question saying that he would definitely be fine with such reading material although he admitted that "it might be a little tough" for second graders.  Edwards claims that he does not want his views to influence his children's views.  "I want my children to be able to make that decision on behalf of themselves, and I want them to be exposed to all the information, even in - did you say second grade? Second grade might be a little tough, but even in second grade to be exposed to all those possibilities, because I don't want to impose my view. Nobody made me God."

Obama stated that his opinions were very much in line with those of former Senator Edwards' and said that his outspoken wife had already made his children "aware" of homosexuality.  "One of the things I want to communicate to my children is not to be afraid of people who are different. …."

In true Clinton form, the New York Senator side-stepped a real answer to the question of whether she would be comfortable having the story read to her own children answering instead that it should be left to the individual judgment of the parents involved.

"Obviously, it is better to try to … help your children understand the many differences that are in the world. … And that goes far beyond sexual orientation. So I think that this issue of gays and lesbians and their rights will remain an important one in our country."

Ex-Massachusetts governor and current Republican presidential candidate, Mitt Romney issued a statement after the debate condemning the answers of all three Democratic candidates.

"Not one candidate was uncomfortable with young children learning about same-sex marriage in the second grade.  This is a subject that should be left to parents, not public school teachers. We need to strengthen our families by passing a federal marriage amendment and also insisting on marriage before having children. Change in Washington requires Democrats with the courage to stand up to their ultra liberal base and do what's right for our children."

In a previous debate, the Democratic presidential candidates were grilled with only questions pertaining to "gay issues" such as gay "marriage", the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) and the military "don't ask, don't tell" policy.  As previously reported by LifeSiteNews.com, at that August debate, the participating candidates, even the guarded Senator Clinton, seemed intent on outdoing each other in the eyes of the largely gay audience in toeing the line of total homosexual orthodoxy, with the minor exception of the gay doctrine of same-sex "marriage".

The book read to the 2nd graders was “King and King”. Please note (and I see there is a lot of confusion about this), this incident followed another incident of a parent of a kindergarten student who protested when there was a class discussion about “families” and gay couples were discussed. The father of the kindergarten parent was arrested in the principal’s office when he demanded that his son be excluded from future discussions of this type. THAT is what provoked the court case, not the “King and King” episode.

Look, I’m an American. I’m all for diversity...

I just want to hear Hillary! Obama! the Breck Girl and the rest of the leftist twits in Congress say to their children the following:

“No, Chelsea (insert name of liberal offspring here), one man inserting his penis into another mans anus is quite normal. No way is that perversion. Animals do it all the time!...”

If they can all do that - say that - to their own, then let them promote homosexuality. But if they don’t...why not. It’s a simple litmus test. (They do not do it because they CANNOT defend it).

One of the most important duties of a parent, and perhaps the single most important one, is to instill in their children a code of moral values.

Well, yeah, that's a given.

When I sent my freshman daughter off to college, (she's coming home this weekend, YEAH!), I told her, 1) Don't do drugs, 2) Don't drink the booze, and 3) Don't become a liberal.

My larger point was, and maybe I didn't make it clear, that if he didn't feel that it was appropriate to impose his values on his children, how would he, as chief executive, administer the enforcement of federal law.

It seems to me to be a feckless statement from a fake and feckless candidate.

I don't think they give a rip how other peoples children are treated. I'll betcha their own would attend private schools where "fairy" tails like this were not read.

Edwards: "I don't want to impose my view. Nobody made me God."

That is such a pathetic answer from such a girly man. He can't impose his views on anybody, yet we are supposed to blithely accept that is okay for the homos to impose their view on us.

I think you are right. I was almost napping when I first heard it. I woke right up . I don't want him or anyone who will allow the gay agenda to invade the schools. I think if you want to be gay and you are an adult who understands the risks, aids, std's, & dying, thats one thing. To read these books to young children is another matter. Fairy tales , living happily ever after my arse. If you plan to promote it tell the truth. Tell the kids that they might die. I will be one of the jailed parents if they try to read this cr@p to my daughter.

Definitely disgusting. The government shouldn't be teaching anything about marriage to anyone. Nothing!

This is so Marxist it's just not funny.

“Just now on HGTV, decorating channel for you guys, had on ad ad for GLBT History MONTH!!!”

I hope they didn’t out any of their presenters/guests.
It’s always fun when visiting my “church lady” mother and HGTV is on.
Occassionally, I will say “that designer is a bit light in the loafers”
and she gently say “that might be a possibility”.

Naaaaaa Suzy, they try to claim anyone as one of their own, especially when those someones can’t defend themselves.

I know what you mean though, those ads pop up where and when you least expect them, without warning. I believe they call it ramming? or jamming? something like that. Put it everywhere and we will eventually get used to it, is their thinking.

That's a good thing. Maybe his kids will have a chance to become useful human beings. For people who actually have brains and values it's probably better to pass that on. ; )

And nobody is going to make him one either. What a moronic thing to say...I dislike him even more now. I feel sorry for his children. Can you imagine him being your dad? ewww

He’s not a dad. He is basically admitting that he doesn’t consider himself fit to be a father. I think we should take him at his word on that.
