This kinda explains what is going on with this coup, I have heard a lot misunderstandings about what is, and what is going to happen here in Thailand. The new elections are scheduled on Dec 23.
I totally disagree with this coup, and some of the things they have done politically here in the last year, as well as the trumped up reasoning behind it, but this article should help to clear some things up.

I accuse the Thai military and the Thai Sangha of being a bunch of cowards....They have lost all my respect .
They sit by uselessly while helpless and innocent monks are being murdered by the thousands (most likely) next door . And all they can do is re-shuffle their cushy positions . Thailand has enjoyed too much money for too long and they are now totally soft .No
wonder the Islamists think they can take them down in the South . They probably can !
