On Monday evening, September 24, Rush Limbaugh was struck by a story that appeared on ABC’s World News with Charles Gibson. “A closer look tonight at phony heroes,” Gibson said in his introduction to the report, which was about men who claim to be veterans but are not. In the story, reporter Brian Ross discussed two men who claimed to have served in wartime, possibly to receive free veterans’ hospital and other benefits.
And then this: “Authorities say the most disturbing case involves this man, 23 year-old Jesse Macbeth,” Ross continued. “In a YouTube video seen around the world, Macbeth became a rallying point for anti-war groups, as he talked of the Purple Heart he received in Iraq and described how he and other U.S. Army Rangers killed innocent civilians at a Baghdad mosque.” Ross played video of Macbeth saying, “Women and men, you know — while in their prayer, we started slaughtering them.”
As it turns out, none of that happened. Macbeth was in the Army for just six weeks, was discharged before completing basic training, and was never in Iraq. “Last week in federal court in Seattle,” Ross concluded, “Macbeth offered an apology for defaming the real American heroes as he admitted to lying about his service record and his supposed atrocities.” Ross’ story was headlined “Phony War Vets” on the ABC News website.
Among the viewers that night was a person who works for Limbaugh’s radio program. “My call screener saw the ABC News report and he told me about it,” Limbaugh told me yesterday. Limbaugh decided to make the story the subject of his commentary for Tuesday, September 25, a commentary that played in the morning on the 600 stations that carry Limbaugh’s show.

I just about tossed my breakfast when I saw this picture of John (IWIVN) Kerry. He should apologize to all of the REAL heroes of Viet Nam. The democrat party gets these fake/phoney people elected all the time.
That picture of him in uniform always makes me chuckle about how little these anti-war folk really know about the military, they seem to believe what they see in the movies is the truth.
His beret is pulled the the wrong side (It’s always draped to the right side of the head)
His sleeves are rolled up Marine style, the Army doesn’t do it that way at all
Plus that beret looks way too new, when ever you get one you usually keep that thing till it’s thread bare before you get a new one, no way that thing would look that new after a few years of ownership.
(This I can personally attest to as former member of the USAF Security Police)
Still, funny that they thought no one would notice the uniform discrepancies ;)
Anyone know what happened to that other soldier, Scott Thomas Beauchamp who LIED in his columsn in the New Republic....he’s probably STILL EMPLOYED by New Republic....with a RAISE!!

That CONFESSION should be read into the congressional record, THEN a demand for Reid to resign.
There is something else in this story that is not being publicized. And that is, Rush’s original claim that the media picked up all of Jesse MacBeth’s lies without investigating them first. There doesn’t seem to be any embarassment over that fact, even though it was a “Dan Rather” moment for those media sources that ran MacBeth’s lies. We need to identify and castigate those media sources who propagated those lies.
According to the TALKERS magazine survey Rush is clearly
#1 with over 13.25 million listeners daily. Many other
conservative hosts are (high up) on that list including
Hannity, Beck, Dr. Laura, Savage, Ingraham, Mike Gallagher,
etc. The few libs on there like Ed Schultz are way back
in the pack. AND THIS DRIVES THE LIBS NUTS...
They are gunning for the most popular host.

I read the whole article, (BTW, Thanks for posting it), and I found it very interesting.
If you take the qoutes from Rush’s critics, and replace his name with, say, TED KENNEDY, or MURTHA, or KERRY, they make much more truthful statements.

WRONG - he washed out of boot camp in 44 days. He’s never been over seas in our military.
Yes, but he lied about the circumstances of that service, making him a “phoney soldier”, just not quite as phoney as some of the others who have crawled out from under rocks lately.
