A 64-year-old Bradenton man who fired a shotgun to quiet his complaining wife while they were watching a football game was sentenced Tuesday to 20 years in prison.
Authorities said David A. Huffman got mad last November because his wife would not be quiet during a TV football game.
Huffman, a California native, walked out of the room and returned holding a shotgun pointed at his wife's face. San Diego and Denver were involved in a nail-biter that night, according to NFL.com records.
Authorities say Huffman's wife, Kathryn, grabbed the gun, which fired once but did not hit anyone. Huffman's attorney said his client thought the gun was unloaded.
Assistant State Attorney Brian Iten said Huffman's finger was on the trigger when the gun discharged, firing a slug through a window. Huffman's wife hugged her husband, trying to calm him, before going to a neighbor's house to call 911.

A total jerk! But it’s also pretty obvious that he never meant to actually shoot his wife, and when it went off during a struggle, he freaked out. She hugged him to try and calm him! So some penalty? Surely! But 20 years? Florida does not discriminate between intentional and unintentional. The guy’s still a creep, but,,,

He’s getting 40 times the punishment that the preacher’s wife got for mudering the preacher. Not only that, but she’s getting visitation with her three children, all of whom were present when she murdered her husband.

I dont condone it, but I understand...So do I. That's why when I say something and the response is, "Game's on, mom." I back out of the room and go find something else to do.

True, and if it was a good game it is almost justifiable. That bitch shot the Rev. in his sleep.

And I guess I don’t mind chipping in a few bucks so the guy can watch the games in peace.

The unspoken rule in this house is when dad is watching his football team, mom should not speak to dad, unless she has something to say about the game. If mom needs help with something, she should wait until a commercial break to ask.

If you don't like a talkative wife - DON'T MARRY A WOMAN. They like to talk and its part of the bargain you get to have sex with them. If that's too much to put up with, STAY SINGLE, STUPID!!!
