He’s a washed up socialist fool who spent much of his career on a doomed quest to be the heartland’s Bruce Springsteen. An attempt that failed. But he doesn’t let that stop him. His delusions have convinced him that he is relevant.

Who is this John Mellencamp fellow?

Any relation to that guy who used to be a singer called John Tabby Mellencamp or something?

The tree was on campus, but the reports say only a few even saw them and the nooses were removed before the students arrived. The connection of the two incidents can’t be even closely made. Racist opportunists used them to stage something else.

The only reason the incident took so much prominence is because the mother of the lead instigator, Robert Bailey, Jr., was the NAACP La Salle chapter’s president, Caseptia Bailey, and she knew the only way she could get attempted murder charges off her deadbeat son was to make the issue about “RACE” and had to resort to an incident, an idiotic prank, that occurred some months prior. If the noose incident was so offensive, a reaction was justified immediately after its occurance, not almost a year later.

She used her position of “influence” and a NAACP membership drive to inflame the black community into racial tensions just to keep her despicable son from a lengthy prison sentence.

You need to read how THEY, the NAACP, Caseptia Bailey, Katrina Wallace, and others inflamed the blacks.

http://neworleans.indymedia.org/news/2007/08/10784.php

“Please turn around and look at these individuals up here [police and sheriff deputies on courthouse steps]. You need to look them in the eye. Their faces are some of the same faces that some of us have seen in photographs from the 60s and 50s. They got patches, they got uniforms but we should all know, especially our young people. Please look at them and understand that with all the badges and all the uniforms, they stand for absolutely…NOTHING. Which means if there’s a body that stands for nothing then it’s on us to stand up for one another.”

And Caseptia Bailey pretends to wonder why her son sits his arse in a prison cell? She fools no one - all know he might be out for a short time - but he’ll be back. He’s accursed with “the attitude”.

The guy is an old lady. This is just a desperate attempt to get noticed. I didn’t even realize who he was until I read this thread.

What is going to happen if someone comes forward and says sometime during the last 40 years I heard John Mellencamp make a racial remark?

Just like that old “Living Color” skit, “Wrote a song about it, like to hear it, here it go....”

I haven’t liked Mellencamp’s politics for a long time.

He’s obviously not informed. There’s no justification for the beating of a person not even involved in the noose incident. It’s group think through and through, and based only on LSM reports.

Don’t know where that Indiana backwoods guy is coming from. Michigan’s top rockers of that era (Seger, Farner, Nugent) are a lot more conservative.

This goober has only written one song in the past 30 years; he just keeps changing the lyrics around the same chords, the same tempo, and the same foundational melody. And all of the incarnations of that one song are performed by a marginal vocal talent with one of the most irritating whiny voices ever recorded.

My boy is 18 months into learning guitar — I use Meinnenkampf as an illustration of how little talent one can have, while still enjoying a lucrative career.

Who supplied the marchers with water, ice, and sports drinks? The Red Coss.

This innocent “one person” was stupid enough to use racial slurs in a already racially tense environment. I would have kicked his ass to.

And I'd be calling for you to be put in jail, too.

Never said he was "innocent" but why did you put "one person" in parenthesis?

Saying stupid things doesn't mean one gets to beat the crap out of someone. You didn't know this?
