Why are people supposedly so concerned with The Chiiiiildren always having events that require schools to close?

For me the thought of having to listen to John Mellencamp would be one definition of hell. I can’t stand his voice or his pretentious ‘small town’ shtick. He’s about as ‘cool’ and relevant as granny glasses and bell bottoms.

60,000 people attended the freedom rally in Jena , LA recently. Only 4 of them missed work!
It is amazing! They can get 200-300 buses to Jena filled to the brim, but they can’t get on buses to get out of New Orleans for Hurricane Katrina.
