One thing bugs me about the target.
The article says Dayr as Zawr near the border of Turkey.
The only thing I can find is Dayr az Zawr which is on the Euphrates but it’s 100 miles from Turkey. Infact it’s closer to Iraq than it is to Turkey.
Anyone have a bead on where the target area actaully was?
All I have been able to find out is that the target was DEEP inside Syria which leads me to believe whatever AD systems Syria had were totally useless - another reason to rejoice - and bless the dear fingers so toil worn for thee, dear Mother Russia, that I do sincerely hope the Iranians think long and hard before they decide to give Israel an answer on October 12, and the Palestinians, and the Egyptians and the Saudis and on and on.

That was my thought. Dayr as Zawr (As Suwar) is also on the road to Mosul. What if Iraq was going to be the actual target?
