Democrats turn up heat on Limbaugh, network

WASHINGTON – In a prelude to likely efforts to legislate the Fairness Doctrine in 2009, Democratic Party leaders in the Senate, including the party's likely presidential nominee next year, Sen. Hillary Clinton, are turning up the heat on Rush Limbaugh's network, attempting to force him to apologize for maligning anti-war soldiers as phonies – something he didn't say.

On Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid sent a letter, signed by 41 Democrats, to Clear Channel Chief Executive Officer Mark P. Mays demanding he repudiate Limbaugh's comments and extract an apology from him. Mays responded the same day in a letter to Reid defending Limbaugh's right to express his opinions openly on the airwaves.

But Reid is not dropping the matter.

In an e-mail to Democrats today, he urges the public to inundate Mays with similar demands.

"I normally ignore Rush Limbaugh, but his comments last Wednesday went too far for me to remain silent," Reid wrote. "It's one thing to call me 'Dingy Harry' – it's another to insult our men and women in uniform, calling those who oppose the war 'phony soldiers,' as Rush did during his Sept. 26 broadcast."

None of the calls for repudiation or apology, however, contain a transcript of Limbaugh's remarks. That's because other than the two words "phony soldiers," it wouldn't be possible to make the case that Limbaugh was maligning anti-war soldiers generally. He was, in the context of Wednesday's commentaries, specifically addressing the case of Jesse MacBeth, an anti-war activist who claimed to have witnessed atrocities as a Purple Heart recipient in the Army Rangers.

I think the reason why Reid cannot get any thing passed in the senate is because he spends 3 hrs a day listening to Rush... and probably even more talk radio after that..

It just might take an American Revolution II to get these opressive Democrats to back off their quest to take over America.

Why go for the Fairness Doctrine, which will [hopefully] stir up a lot of protest, when they can just go after all of the Conservsative hosts one at a time, starting with Rush?

“It’s one thing to call me ‘Dingy Harry’”

It’s two things: funny and accurate

You think he’s listening to the Tom Daschel Show? He’s the next one to go, according to Nevada polls according to one caller from there on the Rush program.

Somebody needs to open up a can of whoopass on the DBM/dems for allowing this farce of lies to endure. If Reid is just going to outright LIE about this then what good is the idea of America if truthseekers just sit there and do NOTHING about it? Talk about outrage!! Not only does Reid need to stop this deception, he needs to apologise to Rush and the troops!

We might as well be living in a dictatorship!

I think we need to apply the “Baker Act” to Ried. I used to think this kind of talk by the dems was a strategy. Now I’m convinced he is insane and needs help. There is no other explanation.

Here are my thoughts on the subject.

The Democrat party is contuining to show it self as a criminal enterprise by contuining to peddle something they know full well is an outright lie.

Rush Limbaugh has done a h*ll of a lot more for our military than the Dems have ever done. All the Dems have done is lie, smear and defame the very people who are fighting and risking their live on the battlefields so that we the people can continue to enjoy the very freedoms we are enjoying today.

The Democrats clearly have no vision whatsoever for this nation nor any ideas for keeping this nation safe from terrorists. They look at people like Rush and you and I as national security threats to this country.

Their only interst is reacquiring power so they can missuse and abuse it to go after their political opponents and advarsaries.

As far as I'm concerned, Harry, Nancy, Hillary, Turbin and their ilk all belong in orange jumpsuits not in Washington.

MoJowire is right. I think it may be time for a revolution and a rebellion against those Dems to remind them of who the real bosses are.

Regards.......

There is an assault ad, on Rush, currently running on TV, challenging Rush to a face to face.

I think, it would be great for Rush to take him up on it with no scripts or talking points for the Marine, if he really a Marine, to read from. I would like Rush to offer to pay all his expenses, first class air flight and best accommodation’s.

This show would, no doubt, get the highest ratings in radio history and, I believe, drive a stake through the heart of the liberal attempts to discredit Rush.

“That’s because other than the two words “phony soldiers,”

This OBVIOUSLY trumped up charge by Dingy Harry reeks of desperation. The Dems are rightfully concerned that Hillary et al in for a tough race as far as talk radio is concerned.

TWO BIG lessons I learned from the Rush episode:

Anyone who dares say the media is not Liberal, this is the event to point them too. The old media would not have put up with Harry Reed straight-faced, PLAYING THEM AS SUCKERS lying to them.

And second, if people EVER ask "why can't we all just get along" ...THIS is why. The Dems condone outright LYING, not "twisting words" or "looking at something with a different perspective" but outright, black and white, LYING!

A very eye-opening event indeed.

The Democrat party is continuing to show it self as a criminal enterprise by continuing to peddle something they know full well is an outright lie.

It appears to me to be a bold attempt by Marxists to take control of the country. Given that the MSM is already 90% leftist, the vast left wing conspiracy is but one step away from controlling the country. The most outspoken conservative is, of course, Mike Savage, who is number three in the country. Savage has been attacked by a seditious group of Marxists in San Francisco. These gangsters also bent the truth to attack Savage, and they brutally dumped the one person who dissented the first time around. There was no such scum in the country fifty years ago.

Rush is number one, and the number one target. Given the billions of dollars behind the false attack on Rush, given the empty suits in the current administration, and given the power of the government, conservative talk radio is in deep trouble, IMO.

There is one other explanation I don't see anyone discussing. He, like many other Democrats, is a communist. They are seeking to destroy our Democratic Republic. One method is attacking conservative talk radio because they perceive it as a threat to their goal of a strong centralized form of government. They will then go after Internet blogs such as Free Republic to stifle the masses. We need to nip this in the bud before talk radio and FR are history.
