Gore ran for President in ‘88 and was defeated in the primary season...I think Ed Koch endorsed him but nobody else much liked him.
Yeah, he was a conservative Democrat back then and even came up with the Willie Horton ad that Bush 1 gets blamed for. After that loss he went to a new age camp, walked on hot coals and came back a new man, and we all know what than man is, nuts.
