JOE BIDEN: ANOTHER SENATE EMBARRASSMENT
Accuracy in Media ^ | 5 October 2007 | By: Cliff Kincaid

Senate Republicans have suffered a lot of embarrassment over the antics of Sen. Larry Craig, a pro-family politician who played footsy with another man in a bathroom. But the Democrats have their own embarrassments, and one of them is presidential candidate Senator Joseph Biden, their leading foreign policy "expert."

Double Talker

His logic was on display on NBC's Meet the Press program, where the long-time Delaware senator, who now chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, was asked by host Tim Russert about changing his position on setting a deadline for pulling U.S. troops out of Iraq. Two years ago he said that setting a deadline for withdrawal would "encourage our enemies to wait us out." Now he says the war must "end now." Biden replied, "Well, I have changed my mind, but I haven't changed my mind in any fundamental way."

I really don't like picking on poor old Joe Biden since he is probably the most qualified candidate of any of the declared Democrats for president. Of course, that is like saying that Diane Feinstein is the smartest female senator representing California, Minnesota, Washington or Missouri.

"Well, I have changed my mind, but I haven't changed my mind in any fundamental way."

Wonder who is going to make this his watershed moment, ala, "I actually voted for the $87B before I voted against it" verbal incontinence of John sKerry?

Too bad for Biden that Gore already has dibs on inventing the internet.

Biden’s as qualified to be president as Stuart Smalley is to be senator.

The only thing I’ve ever observed of Biden which indicates some degree of decency was when during a filibuster, he offered to suspend debate without a change in who had the floor because Strom Thurmund had to get some rest. Most likely an act to get the absentee votes from nursing home directors for each dimentia resident, but still a decent gesture.

Shouldn’t he have said, “I made up my mind before I changed it?”

I don't think we should be mocking a man who did so much for hair science by being the first study participant to undergo a scrotal weave.

I am not a fan of Joe Biden’s politics, but I do remember seeing him during a number of senate hearings. He was easily the brightest person there. Pity he is democRAT.

I’ve never met Joe Biden. But I did talk to one of his colleagues about him. The man told me that Senator Biden is one of the brightest and most thoughtful member of the Senate on the other side of the aisle. At least he knows enough to plagiarize from the best. LOL!

Unfortunately, I live in Delaware and cursed to be represented in the Senate by the self-styled Duke of Delaware and the Macel Marceau of the Senate, Tom Carper. Aside from arrogance, pomposity and double talk, Biden has no qualities whatsoever. Carper does exactly what Biden does, making Delaware the only state represented by one human being and one mimic.

Don’t get me started on our lone representative. But what the heck, what do you expect from a state as unimportant as Delaware (or RI for that matter).
