Problem is, a lot of the best people don’t wish to subject themselves to a leftist media anal exam. It just isn’t worth the stress to them or their families. At least Wilson knows the routine. She’s not perfect, but she’s not the Maine twins, either. The problem is, too, a geography problem. Folks not from the Albuquerque region have a tough time getting elected, especially Republicans. One reason why she has an advantage over Steve Pearce, who is from the far southeast corner at Hobbs (though ideologically, Pearce is preferable).
One of the ABQ stations had a second poll question to accompany the one above. They had Steve Pearce matched against Marty Chavez and Pearce polled even higher than Wilson. But I suspect that’s because Pearce is unknown outside of District II and Marty is disliked by many. When the Rats would get through with smearing Steve as the strong conservative he is, it will balance the numbers.
