How in the world does an alcohol-education class last EIGHTEEN MONTHS?!?

Some of us take a long time to learn how to spell "D-O-N'-T".

He makes enough money to hire a $30k a year assistant to drive and shop for him if he wanted to drink.

It lasts that long because there are insurance policies that pay that for that long.

Mine was probably higher than that when I was 18, and had minor alcohol poisoning.

I’m learning slowly

Tony... I need you to bring the car around the back of the jail... Don’t ask why, just do it.

You’re the only one I can trust...

Yeah, you don’t need to pay 100k like Julia Roberts does unless they are living with you.

Sutherland can have the person there before he is to get off until he goes home on certain days he wants to drink.

He could get someone to help, maybe a relative with little income.

At 18 you probably could handle a BAC of .15 and still get a bartender to serve you another. I am sick of the bullshit (yes I spelled it out this time so go climb a rock) regarding booze yet everyone is clamoring to legalize drugs at the same time. I am a life long drinker. There are times I layed off the booze. Sometimes for money.
Sometimes for a woman(that was a waste of effort). Sometimes because a judge’s request.(that was a bigger waste of effort).

Don’t ever let some psycho idiot tell you you are an alcoholic. I learned this from a psycho babble idiot. He told me so much.

Now, let me clarify some here. Some people really do benefit from AA. Let them alone and let them benefit. In fact, give them emotional support. But the second they push their beliefs on you, you should smack them down hard and fast. I believe in AA for some people. I have actually abstained from alcohol for a time and to this day I believe it was the best thing for me to do at the time. But I will never stop drinking for ever. I will never believe that I am “powerless” over alcohol. I definitely have power over alcohol. I’ve proved it. I typically stop drinking when the weather gets too cold to ride a motorcycle...thats usually around thanksgiving. Then start again around march. But last spring I started not till june.(I guess that was technically summer)

I was really small when I was 18 though, maybe 5’2-5’4 and 100Lbs soaking wet. It didn’t take a lot for me to get wasted, still doesn’t with an additional 25lbs.

I love Kiefer in “24”; but is jail now a revolving door for celebs?

Why? Why do all that BS when you can just drive yourself from bar to bar with no problem? That’s what bar hoppers do every night. That’s what I used to do in my twenties. Now I could be embarrassing myself and find out he was so whacked it was just a ridiculous situation. But that still doesn’t change the fact that .08 is a stupid limit. I say make it a graded scale.

Start at .o4 and work your way up to .16. I’d do steps of .o2 up to .16 and make the punishments proportional. .16 is jail time and loss of license and a permanent criminal record(a felony maybe). .04 is a traffic violation or maybe only a parking violation.

So your screen name is a testament to your inability to hold your liquor?

Unless I missed it, his BA level was not listed. Only that it was over .08%.

.08 is a ridiculous limit, and MADD is pushing for .04.

Nonetheless, I think what is significant in this story is the fact that he put himself at risk while on probation for doing this before. Especially considering he has the financial capability to avoid driving if he wants to drink, this indicates a serious lack of judgment on his part.

I disagree. I think it indicates a serious flaw in the law. Not because he chose to flaunt it. But because he was able to do so for so long. If he can do so, then so can the rest of us. The law is a result of the safety nazis taking root in your(not mine) brain over the last 20 years. It crept up on you and you accept it as a religion. That’s your failing.

0.08 is absolutely stupid and only a stupid absolute commie would condone such a stupid limit. Take your commie ideas and stick them up my diesel tailpipe of my truck so I can blow them out when I wish. And I’ll be drinking as I do so.
