Friends like Sandy Berger (Hillary and FOB)
The Washington Times ^ | October 10, 2007

If Sen. Hillary Clinton is to chart her own course independent of her husband, why did she choose Sandy Berger to give her advice on foreign policy? This suggests reunion time for cronies. In 2003, Mr. Berger took several highly classified documents about the Clinton-era Millennium terror plot from the National Archives while "aiding" the September 11 commission. Mr. Berger successfully negotiated a plea bargain and received only two years probation, along with a security-clearance suspension and a $50,000 fine. Were he anything less than a member of the permanent Clinton establishment, he would be in sitting in a prison cell, with few prospects.

But no sooner was his probation time over — it ended last month — than Mrs. Clinton put him back in the game, presumably with a new pair of pants big enough to accommodate purloined documents. This issue is a larger subset of the looming "first laddy" question. In a Hillary Clinton administration, first husband Bill Clinton would inevitably loom large. The Berger news suggests that his old friends and cronies would, too.

Purely on merits, there's no question that Mr. Berger should be finished in Washington's national-security officialdom. This could of course be merely a symbolic appointment, with no future for him at the National Security Council or anywhere else in government. The episode reeks nonetheless. The Clintonistas try to dismiss the Berger thievery as just another crazy caper in the story of eccentric Sandy. It could not have been that, since the theft was deliberate and elaborate.(continued)

I do hope someone in the MSM is digging into the quid pro quo at the heart of this. It gets no more brazen than this.

When I first read that Burgler was serving Hillary, I tell ya I was surprised at her gall! No way she was this stupid, appointing a criminal to advise her campaign right in the middle of running for the Presidency. But darn didn’t this turn into one of those “to good to be true events”!

Not me. What DOES surprise me is that none of the GOP "Challengers" pre-emptively demanded she pledge not to seek his counsel, because we all knew he would be back working for the Clinton Crime Clan. Why else would his probation expire just before the campaign started up?

ASAP, somebody should get in Slick Hilly's face and demand she freeze out Berger, knowing full well she won't do it. All the Clintonoids wandering around over the past six years are on a short leash, including Stephanopoulos. But Berger has the advantage of being able to threaten flipping on them if he doesn't retain his insider status.

Actually, we don't really don't know WHAT Berger pilfered from the archives.

The other day I read that the pilfered documents were original, one-of-a-kind papers with comments by none other that Richard Clarke. They were taken before the 9/11 Commission met and had handwritten notes critical of the Clinton administration. Berger was ostensibly reviewing the documents to ‘help’ with his testimony before the Commission. Anybody conservative would probably have been brought up on much more severe charges. I have asked my lefty friends how they would feel if Rice had done something like this. They point out that Berger wasn’t in Rice’s position and I always tell they ‘Yes, he was National Security Adviser’. They still don’t care about Berger’s transgressions. Typical.

The only reason Hillary became a US Senator and the only reason she is running for US President to to make sure the Clintons and all their cronies stay out of jail. Just ask yourself a simple question, Why would an ex-Presidents wife run for the Presidency ?

I’m amazed he’s still alive. Guess the Clinton’s haven’t had time to deal with him yet. Someday, you hear the media say “Sandy commits suicide.”
