I too remember the Carter years. Let me see... do I trust my last bit of gas to get me 30 miles home or do I take a chance of burning it trying to find a station with gas? I could buy a more efficient car, but the interest rate is around 21%, so that’s out.
The ultimate slap in the face was when my daughter said a couple years ago that Carter was probably her favorite president she could remember because he was so nice and worked with the Habitat for Humanity...Oh Boy did that set me off.
It's been an 'unwritten' agreement forever.
To my knowledge the only 2 ex-Presidents to break the unwritten rule are Carter and Clinton.
Speaks to their character doesn't it.
Technically, Carter was never a peanut farmer. He held government quota for growing peanuts which he hired out to the real peanut farmers.
