I hope it never could have been a Nobel science award. However, in this climate, who knows.

The climate has been changing for 5 billion years. What’s your POINT?

Since the climate changing is established...

True, in the sense that the climate is always changing and always has. I don't think we have a handle on which direction it's currently going or how fast. Just witness the recent revisions to NASA's climate records in the USA and Mr. Hansen's continued efforts to cover up his methodology for calculating *past* climate - and that's just here in America!

Beyond that, the continuing documentation of the hilariously bad siting of many of the measurement stations (next to air conditioning exhaust, on an asphalt parking lot, etc.) when such stations were in the middle of a field fifty years ago renders any conclusions drawn from their measurements highly suspect. And that's just here in America - the rest of the world's records are likely in far worse shape.

So I'm not sure how one would go about making a *credible* claim (keeping in mind that repetition is not the same as credibility) that we have a good handle on even the current situation, much less future climate changes.

First terrorism, now strangling the West in the name of temperature equilibrium. What they have to do with peace, someone ought to explain. The Nobel Peace Prize is little more than conferring prestige on the leftist cause of the day.

Did you read the remainder of my post or did you stop there?

Actually data suggests that the climate is changing more quickly than it has in the past. Data is still unclear on that and more research is necessary.

Funny when it comes to Climate Change some Freepers are as bad about trying to identify dissent as those they disdain on the left.

Are you afraid that the issue may not be so clear and someone might question your pre-disposed notions? That is not very conservative of you. Seems more like a leftists attitude.

Just want to go on record that creating this award for Al Gore cheapens every previous award ever given. If the lies and distortions in the material that Al Gore created to get this award is the same for every other award winner it is a useless award.

I always thought his reaction to the election in 2000 was so odd. It was if the election had been “arranged” in some way for him to win, not by any fair or square ways and in the end some one had double-crossed him or lost the nerve. Evidently his ability to manipulate other things such as the Nobel prize or the Oscars is more effective.

The real tragedy is that Gore receiving it means that Castro may not get one since he is in such poor health, he might not be alive for next year's award.

Gore give your prize to Fidel!!!!!

I guess we get what we deserve.

If stupid people can listen to the wacky Creationists they'll listen to just about anything.

Minor correction. It's not listening to creationists, it's believing them that proves one is stupid.

IGNOBLE PIECE (of the) PRIZE GORED !

ignoble \ig-NOH-bul\, adjective:

1. Of low birth or family; not noble; not illustrious; plebeian; common; humble.
2. Not noble in quality, character, or purpose; characterized by baseness, lowness, or meanness.

My new definition of that ignoble hunk of brass reward for asshat polidiots and pandering losers disguised as winners ....

Al Gore is the High priest of a cult.

We should all act like atheists and demand that this religious teaching is forbidden in American public schools.

"Seems that the Peace Prize has deteriorated to become the Nobel Committee's message to the United States: 'Up yours, Uncle Sam!' "

I don't rememebr the name of the spokesman who said it, but clearly recall him saying that Jimmah "DA PEANUT MAN" Cahtah only won as "A kick in th eleg to George Bush".

From the Politico...Democrats are already buzzing about the possibility that he would get a high-level post in a Hillary Clinton administration, perhaps as a roving ambassador charged with seeking global cooperation on climate change.

Fifteen minutes after the announcement, Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards was out with a three-paragraph congratulatory statement praising Gore's “prescient and compelling – and often lonely – advocacy for the future of the Earth.”

Friday morning, the home page of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign posted a large photo of Gore in a thoughtful pose and a huge "CONGRATULATIONS!" with a tribute saying his "dedication and tireless work have been instrumental in raising international awareness about global warming."

"You think his “reaction” to the 9/11 events would have resulted in a more peaceful world or a less peaceful world?"

LOL, I don't think hiding under the fesk in a yellow puddle would be conducive to peace. More pieces maybe, but not peace.

"Because he lost, there is more peace. . ."

In a twisted sort of way, you have a point.

A much more prestigious group of names than the list of Nobel Peace Prize winners is the list of passed-overs:

Ronald Reagan
Margaret Thatcher
Pope John Paul II
and added this year
Rush Limbaugh
